I hate them!!!! I wonder if I bought some 19" competition style wheels ...... how much I would be able to sell the factory 18" ones with Michelin Pilot Super Sports on them with 60% tread left?

You can sell them easily as they can fit non M e9X platform but don't expect to break even

M3's 2008-2010 came with the gunmetal 219's. 2011+ came with the silver 219's. IMO the gunmetals look better than the silvers.
Keep in mind even if you get 359's it won't look like the ZCP M3's due to the higher ride height.

Thanks a ton guys for the help. I did not see any M badges on the wheels and it was a different style than I am used to seeing on the M3's so I was a bit confused.
Regardless if I change wheels or not..... I am going with the H&K springs for the car which will lower it about an inch. If I go with a different wheel..... do you think I would be able to sell these wheels and tires for about $1200? Does that seem reasonable or am I reaching a bit here? |

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387977 EDIT: Wait a minute, those could be 260Ms? The spoke looks to be of uniform thickness all along the spoke, thus making it a 260M. 219Ms have varying thickness of the spoke going into the hub. check the link! Last edited by BimmerRookie; 04-21-2016 at 11:33 AM.. Reason: I beleive those are 260Ms not 219Ms |

BimmerRookie is right, those are 260M wheels.
You can enter the last 7 digits of the vin number here and you'll be able to see the build of the car and everything it came with, including which wheels. http://bimmer.work/ |

Those are 260s. 219s have a different concave profile.

I believe Euro M3's came with 260s. US M3's came with 219s. Not sure why.
Regardless, those are not the stock US wheels. You should inquire further.

These are silver 260M wheels. They are 100% OEM, mostly on Euro models, some made its way into US production models.
At one point in 2012, BMW switched all 18 inch wheels to the silver finish, and then at another point, they basically ran out of 219Ms and started fitting cars with 260Ms here in the US. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=974302 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=320433

this is a classic problem with all new M3 deliveries. OP at this point needs to do a search on this forum. The 260M and hood alignment issues were covered years ago when people were taking new deliveries.

Ok took the car to dealer and confirmed that they are the original issue factory wheels for the vehicle.
I did a search for "alignment" and "hood alignment" and forgive me, but did not see anything. When I arrived to look at the car the driver's side of the hood was not lined up with the fenders and I pressed down on the hood and it latched down and it was just fine. The hood has 2 latches and it was secured on the passenger side but not the driver's side. Am I missing something here? I opened and closed the hood and no issues. I can only guess that someone closed the hood gently and didn't allow it to latch on both sides. |
