Wife was not impressed
So today my wife finally got the M experience. It has been a week and half now since I got the car and only sat in it.
Anyway said that it was nice but nothing more. Didn't care much for the added speed, sound or acceleration. Her favorite things were: the seats are way more comfortable then my previous m-sport 335i, feels bigger inside, likes the sakhir orange leather and that the car smelled good. Her conclusion was that "it's not like I went from a civic to this, my previous car was already quite nice". Said that she would need to drive it to maybe feel more excited about it. But she wants to wait until break in is over I honestly thought she would like it more, but then maybe it's a good thing so that I won't have to share her as much

your wife is quite hard to please, lol.
the sensation of speed in these cars is not that great imo. but i think she's just hinting to you that she needs to flog it!! |

I know a lot of enthusiasts that are women. I think your comment is a very broad generalization.

We went from a 13 328 M Sport to a 16 M3. Had it a week tomorrow and the wife loves it. Has driven it a few times and has come home with smiles each time. Last time she said she could see how one could get in trouble in it :-)

Only an enthusiast would get excited. If your wife isnt one then forget it. Picture this stereotype....My wife like most of her girlfriends could give a shit about an M4 or any vehicle as long as it is nice and familiar, but would always comment on my car "why is it so loud? Oh my gosh [use valley girl tone]". If I had bought her a coach bag, Jimmy Choo's, or new jewelry then I get an awesome response from her and her girlfriends. Obviously they aren't impressed with the DPs, Chargepipes, JB4 or MPE...lol
My guess is you've been married a while, your wife wants her space, and letting you have an M4 preoccupies you...just kidding |

I got my m4 4 weeks ago and while I was deciding what car to get, my wife was not impressed with M4s. She really liked the Mazarratti gran turismo convertible, as I was also close to getting that. She didn't like any exotic ideas at all. But once I got this M4 convertible she has liked it. Everyone else 100% loves it from the start. I recently got my wife a supercharged 2016 Audi Q5 and that's her style. She respects my car, but is scared to drive it, partly due to the sound.

My wife hasn't driven one of my "fun" cars in a decade. I'd call that a win!

shrug. not everyone likes the same things about cars.
My wife really liked the lighter steering and softer suspension of her F30 335, while many people on these forums are complaining about the softening of that car... |

When the time comes that I do have a wife....well, I guess I'll just have to make space for another love in my life

Interesting about the various experiences
My wife, who has never been big in to any car really, has been in love with the M4 from the day it was delivered...in fact, she wants one of her own now

The key is: "... wait until break in is over."
haha I think at that point she can gun it and fall in love with how well it all comes together. And yes, the speed doesn't translate too well. In an instant I'd be going 10+ beyond what it felt like I was doing when I first got the car. I've also grown to love the sound and the ruckus that it is

Guy 1: "OH MAN BRO DID YOU SEE HER FACE ?" Guy 2: "YA MAN IT'S HIDEOUS" Guy 3: "....YEA BUT DID YOU SEE THAT HANDBAG?? IT WAS SHINY" And that's why they like handbags. okay, on a more serious response. That's how my SO felt at first when we first met, but now she's been driving all of our cars and she enjoys them. Just give it time, and BAM your toy is going to be taken away from you. |
