JB4 connect kit rev 3

Just remove the red cap of the positive side of the battery and attach the small hook which came with the kit to it , it's underneath the bonnet very near to the passenger side

you see the red cover here on the top left? That's the jump start terminal. Remove the cowl that covers it via 3 twist lock nuts.

locate the jump point and use a T50 torx bit to remove the terminal point. Put the wire under the terminal and tighten it back down.

Got Donnie to ship me a new Connect Kit as my first wasn't getting a signal for some reason. Got it connected (no black wire this time around), but the Connect kit is telling me to check the hardware connection??? I'm using an iPhone with the latest software, so it couldn't be a Bluetooth issue, right?

Should have power, ground, and a connection to the JB4 port.

I use iPhone w/ latest firmware no issues w/ mine.

I appreciate the input. The new Connect kits ship without the black ground wire, but I'm at a loss as to how to get the kit hooked up correctly, as the instructions just mention to connect to the JB4 (done) and then the negative (red) terminal. Done and done, yet still no connection.

You just need to connect the Red wire to the positive terminal to give the unit power. The hookup for power to the JB4 is only for the N54 version as the JB4 is powered.

I did that. Slipped the crimped fork connector under the terminal. Tightened down. Double checked my connections to the JB4, and STILL get the 'check hardware connections' message.

Guess thats a new Rev 4 kit not Rev 3 then....

Nah they still call it Rev 3, but it just doesn't ship with a black ground wire anymore. Slightly easier install. Mine came like this as well.

I'll try and make one, however, I'm currently trouble-shooting the adapter I just got, does not seem to have power. Once I get is figured out, I'll put one together.

Did you check the connection in aluminum case between jb4 & connect kit? Some people had similar problems due to that..

You did remove the DB9 connector from the JB Connect and tighten it down to the board, right?

Done that. It's working just fine. I just can't get the Connect Kit to give me a bluetooth connection.
