M-performance power kit for 30D
Hi all,
I wonder if some of you guys have any experience of the m-performance power kit for the European f15 30D? According to the numbers you will get 20 extra hp (258 to 277) and the 25 extra Nm (560 to 585). Will you feel any difference? I'm not looking to speed up the 0 - 100 (0 - 60 mph). I'm more interested in acceleration from let's say 90 km to 130 km. Is it worth the money? Thank you! |

What's the cost of it? We don't have the benefit of the kit being available here in North America. If its anything like the kit for the 35i, I would say yes...its worth it. And best of all, you've still got warranty should something happen.

If it is anything similar to the 35i then absolutely!
The 35i costs about $995 and additional $200ish for install. The additional power is felt throughout the power band especially in the lower RPM's.

Thanks
I would say the price is pretty much the same here. Today I have the 2015 30D but have an order on a new 2016 placed to my dealer. There where some options that I really missed on my current one that I want to change. LED instead of Xenon, space grey instead of alpine white, full digital cluster, heads up etc. We got the production date but the order isn't locked yet so I can still make changes. I'm actually happy with 30D engine so my plan was to go with the same. But right now I'm having some second thoughts. I might consider changing to a 40D instead. But that's obviously a more expensive option with both higher price, insurance and consumption. I will probably love a 40D but I'm not sure I need it. That's why I'm thinking of the 30D with MPK as a good option. All these decisions.... Gives me headache Last edited by usual_suspect; 03-02-2016 at 01:57 PM.. Reason: Spelling |

Yes I installed the 30d M performance kit.
Makes the Car more responsive in comfort and when floored there is a difference but not between night and day. But 258 was already sufficiënt for me. It's just when too much is just right. I negotiated a discount As the front brakes where almost brand new and are changed with a slightly larger size |

I had the same thoughts, the 30d is ok, I could get the MPPK, but why when there is the 40d with 50bhp more plus a large lump of extra torque. The 40d is a performance bargain! |

jumperjohn: I have ask my dealer for a price quote on the 40D. I might just follow your advice .
pragueX5: Not in Sweden. The X5 is really expensive when it comes to insurance be cause of all the stolen E70 and the increasing trend of stealing wheels, navigator etc. And they also make a difference when it comes to the effect of the engine. |

Kzang: Thats an awesome car! But why stop there when there is a X5 M?
Seriously - Its too much money for me right now. Maybe when they release the next generation in around 2022. |

40D is certainly the way to go if you are thinking of spending money on a chip!
The 30D has a decent amount of power, but the 40D is probably the best of the deisals when you take fuel economy into account, I would go with the 50D if I could mind!! Enjoy |

Kit and part details in my footnote. My dealer (US) said they will not install it. Here is the link in case you are the mobile app which does not show footnotes by default: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1088501

Just called my dealer and asked him to change the order to a 40D. Lets hope its not to late for making changes. He's said that it should be OK and he will confirm to me as soon as he gets any reply from BMW.
A bit more money, but I'm sure I wont regret this decision when I'm sitting behind the wheel . |

Why does the intercooler in the M kit have the same part number as the stock intercooler?
