Software update with BMW ConnectedDrive.

Has anyone had issues trying to get the USB card read thru the USB port on the center console bin?????
I had and m4 days ago and never had this issue.
It won't read the update from the USB card?

I got this to work the first time, just dropped the bin file on a FAT32 formatted drive and it worked fine.

However, after my last service my firmware is newer than what is provided on the update site so you should verify the bin file you are using is actually newer than your current firmware. IIRC the error it throws in this case makes that not obvious.

Should where? Compare the version you downloaded, and version you already have. If your car has a HIGHER version, then there is nothing to update.

I recall needing to use a USB 2.0 (vs. USB 3.0) stick to update my wife's 2011 BMW. While I anticipate this shouldn't be an issue with a newer car, it might be one more thing to check to be sure.

I used USB3.0 on my car and it works just fine. USB3.0 is backward compatible. However my car did not like one usb stick ( 2.0 if it is matter). That usb works fine in my computers but car did not like it.

I am on MN-003.003.001/TN-003.003.001. The bin file will have multiple versions in it, check the change log to find the one relevant to you.
