X5 rim/tire sizes
Can all of you experts weigh in on tire size for the X5?
So I'm ready to order my X5 and the first thing I'm gonna do is ditch the run flats as I did on my Z4. Now the question I have is - what are the stock tire sizes on the 19" vs 20" rims for this car? I can't seem to find that info on the BMW website. Is there room to increase tire size on the stock rim? Also - any particular tire recommendations? I live in warm climate and will not be taking the car to the snow. Will be taking it on the sand eventually but for that will most likely get a separate set of tires... Unless you can recommend a setup that will do the job on the road and in the sand just as well. Thanks a bunch. |

I can comment on the staggered 20's...
Front - 275/40/20 Rear - 315/35/20 As for tire recommendations, I run the P-Zeros for summer and the Scorpion Ice and Snows for winter. My P-Zeros are done, so I'll most likely be opting for Pilot S/S this Spring. I know a lot of guys opt for the Conti DWS06 (non-RF all season).

Tire sizes below. In terms of summer recommendations,
295/30R22 and 335/25R22 work as well. Continental DSW06 are a good all-around tire that is worth looking at. Smaller the tire size the cheaper it is so 20" is a well balanced size. 255/55 R 18 109 H M+S XL RSC 255/50 R 19 107 H M+S XL RSC Front: 255/50 R 19 107 W XL RSC Rear: 285/45 R 19 111 W XL RSC Front: 275/40 R 20 106 W XL RSC Rear: 315/35 R 20 110 W XL RSC Front: 275/40 R 20 106 V M+S XL RSC Rear: 315/35 R 20 110 V M+S XL RSC Front: 285/35 R 21 105 Y XL RSC Rear: 325/30 R 21 108 Y XL RSC |
