Possible M3 conversation with Dealer...
Hi All
I'm currently driving an F31 330D msport + PPK ACS etc. I'm doing a lot less miles per year now than when I got the car and have, quite frankly, had a lot of warranty issues with it. When I was at the dealers last time for them to check the latest things to be replaced under warranty I happened to mention I am getting a little bit down with the car as I'm getting to that "what next" point with the problems. (in short for those curious, new trim pieces, door seals, inlet pipe to turbo, new turbo, new steering rack, new centre dash speaker, dash rebuilt with felt bits, door seals a few more times, now three wheels to be changed and door seals again and rear light cluster filling with condensation!). I had a brief discussion about what could be done and I mentioned my change of mileage and interest in going for an M3. I'm back in Friday for the wheels etc to be dealt with and the salesmen called and arranged for some time to "see what they can do to get me into an M". So, I guess what I'm getting around to asking (sorry for waffling but I thought history could be helpful) is what sort of deal do you think would be a good gesture from BMW given the history? I've specced what I would like Mineral Grey DCT M3 without badges (I like subtle...) Only additions for me Competition package (well sort of subtle ) Sakhir Orange interior Carbon dash trim Privacy glass Harmon Kardon Adaptive lights odds and bobs Total on BMW configurator £61k dead. Plus 3K for competition package? I'd also like the front splitter (£400?). My current car is 21 months old with 25k miles on so I can't imagine into equity yet or able to VT? So my sort of thoughts if they actually want to do something special would be take existing car at no loss to me. 10%? discount off the M3 with 2k down (from me) on a 48mth PCP monthlies of approx. £750? I'm really not sure what is achievable normally and therefore what they could do if they were actually trying to make a decent gesture of retaining a customer who's not had a great experience? So thanks for reading and I would be very grateful for any thoughts, tips, insight or advice you may have Ade |

if you are sitting in front of them with your card, wanting to do a deal, I bet they will make it happen.
I recently bought a 6 month old from M4 from a main dealer. I told them my numbers, the monthly's started at £750, I shook hands at £609 (with no more from my side). there isn't many people buying these cars at present Good luck and welcome to the club (hopefully) Last edited by MB London; 02-10-2016 at 06:54 AM.. |

I'm looking to trade in an M135 with a couple of grand of Neg Eq on it, which they said they'll swallow. me putting £ 3k in deposit and the monthlies on a 48 month pcp were over £ 900! I told him to sharpen his pencil and said I wanted to pay no more than £800 and he laughed and said it was unachievable. my spec OTR new price was £ 65k and he reckon he discounted by 10% and still he needed to lose another £4k to get to £ 800 a month. which he couldn't do. if you are able to get £ 750 a month, then I'd love to meet your dealer...!

Hate to say it mate, but your dealer is trying to bend you over. The are probably working in the negative equity of your m135 into the payments |

taking the M135 out of the equation, what sort of monthlies should I be getting? my stealer reckons the GFV after 4 years is only £ 25k!! even with Comp pack. that's why my monthly examples are so high. even with a 10% discount off £65k, I'm having to finance £ 33,500 plus interest of say 4.9%. whatever way I spin it, i'm still coming out at £ 800. so yes. he definitely is stinging me for my M135

I'm looking at an M4 or 3 at the moment, the GFV at 25k is about right and the interest rate at 4.9 again is about right, discount from a base spec is around 7k but trying to get that over the option prices is harder. Anyway you know all about being stung (the M5 remember!) my dealer has offered me 41k after 11 months If he is quoting you £900+ a month with 3k in then I reckon he is using the 2k from BMWFS/BMW but keeping all his margin show him the offer from Peter Vardy 7k off before haggling.

Ade, if you contact Vardy ask to speak to Sid Niqqash, tell him Bilal from Glasgow sent you. I didn't buy from there as I bought slightly used in the end and had a trade in. But he was very helpful throughout

Thanks MB :-P , Damn my fingers! They can't keep up with my brain when I'm typing
Thanks very much Bilal. This is a conversation with the salesman is to try and keep me happy with BMW I suspect so I'm not officially in the hunt for a new car (I was originally planning to start the new car negotiation later this year early next. However if they offer me a cracking deal that gets me into an M3 earlier than I was planning then it's all good I'll be honest I'm not going to hold my breath though Ade |

Yes I know all about getting bent over on part exchanging a nearly new M5!! I got £45k after just 6 months and 6k on the clock. It certainly stings when you buy new... But I'll never learn as I went to the dealer today and signed up for this new CP due mid March!! I even spec'd up to inc full leather, adaptive LEDs and few more options to get to £67.5k including comp pack. Putting 3k in we shook at £810 per month. This is unc trading in my M135. I test drove one they had in the show room today and loved it, with performance CF parts everywhere and the M Perf exhaust. Oh boy that exhaust is a must have!!! But need to wait and see what the upgraded CP exhaust sounds like before shelling out the £3500 is cost for MPE.. Are you interested in the M3 or 4? Why you trading in So early on the M5? |
