The New Jaguar F-Pace S SUV
So has anyone considered the new Jaguar F-Pace S SUV?
The front lower air inlets remind of the Msport design even with the side scoops next to the inlet. The rear looks more like a Range Rover Evoque. ENGINES Type Supercharged Displacement 3.0L Maximum Power 380hp @ 6,500 rpm Maximum Torque 332 lb-ft @ 4,500 rpm Compression ratio 10.5:1 Transmission 8-Speed-ZF® automatic PERFORMANCE Acceleration 0-60 mph 5.1 seconds Top speed 155 mph

Looks great and did think about it for my next car but the lack of the 5.0 supercharged v8 makes it a definite no for me, I need more power!

Yeah I noticed that there wasn't a V8 option. I wonder why they didn't offer that.

Yeah its more of an X3 comp. Its a lot smaller than it looks in pictures. Pretty car but going to be somewhat limited in capability. Reminds me a lot of an evoque

I guess it would be a X3/ Macan competitor then. It does look a lot larger in the photos though.

I gotta be honest, the interior is extremely boring. The rest is ok, doesnt make me scream like the the F Type does, that car looks hot, this looks eh.

Considering for the wifey... Really depends on the quality & price here. Did a few configurations recently for her based on simple "I like the looks", ended up with:
1) Jaguar F-Pace: still waiting on the official pricelist + need a showroom car here to actually do a "touch-and-feel" inspection. 2) RR Evoque: ~70k EUR. Can't justify paying that much for an Evoque... which'll still look like 35k. 3) VW Touareg: ~85k EUR. Almost same as above, too much for VW badge. 4) Audi A7: ~100k EUR. Has VAG completely gone nuts? That's new Q7 money, well optioned. |

Seriously! Its a Jag!
Reviews this side of the Atlantic are its drives OK but it has the same old god-awful JLR touch screen interface for ICE and Maps etc that RR have. No Way! |

Well I thought about this .. Rule #1 never buy 1st gen especially Jaguar, Rule #2 Not sure if its an actual X3 or X5 competitor but it looks to be sized in between both.
I decided to go for the X4 M40i , 0-60 4.7secs , 355hp/343tq .. Enjoy 4yr/50k maintenance since first orders are coming in as MY16 I'll give the F-pace time and 1-2yrs at least to see how the side by side review and comparison will say.

none of the cars it competes with (macan, x3, q5, glc, discovery sport) offers it so they took a gamble on a 4cyl diesel instead...

that is because lr/rr took it out of the jaguar when the l320 got an update. it is the same system found in l494 models. it is slower than ever and unresponsive. it is probably one of the worst gui in a current production vehicle. it makes MB look like a technological marvel.

Meh... My neighbor has a '15 Jag XF. It is in the shop more days out of the year than I could count. Consumer report doesn't even rank Jag's reliability due to lack of data, which is a huge red flag.

my x5m had more problems than any other car i owned. my f31 spent more days in the shop than in my own garage. bmw doesnt have the best track record for reliability either. everyone bashes LR/RR and says they're the least reliable and most troublesome yet the RRS-SC and the RR-SC i owned had less problems than ANY bmw M or bmw plain jane product i have ever owned.
