Not on the east coast, but have 20 inch staggered DWS06 on my 35d. In the last four inch snow here the x5 performed as well or better than my 550ix with Dunlop SP Winter Sports. Very pleased with the DWS06 and strongly recommend. Dealer swapped out factory run flats for DWS at purchase for no cost, keeps run flats for lease returns.

I do have DSW06 staggered in my X5 F15 35D, in Northern Illinois. That's the family car. So far very good experience in snow. I also installed the same tires in the V60 Polestar, also with great results.
I have been driving on snow and ice with a vibrant cadence, they are really good: The cars drive firm and steady, also with good braking power. Why not snow tires? Not really need it because machines and trucks are removing deep accumulated snow after the storms. We went a few times to the ski resorts in Wisconsin where a lot of snow accumulates in the roads, and again the tires did a good job. If you ask me if the snow tires are better in snow? Yes, definitely but as I wrote before, not really need it in my area with a AWD equpped with All Seasons Tires. |

I made it to work in height of blizzard in the am and coming home in the pm. The dws06 and xdrive had me well footed in those extreme conditions with accumulation of inches on the roadway in Brooklyn, NY. Leading up to the storm I kind of wished I had bought dedicated snow's, but the A/S Conti's didn't disapoint. I have them mounted on stock size staggered 599 replicas in 20".
Definitely recommend unless you live in an area where snow on roadway is constant (Canada, etc) |

We had 2 feet of snow and I didn't have a single problem, although it got stuck once on the heel that was about 35 degree angle. It got stuck because I made a stop at the top of the heel trying to yield for crossing vehicle.

Bump. We've had our DWS for about 3 years and it's been a great performer. I think we have about 35K miles on them now and starting to have some traction issues driving in snow. I have 20" staggered setup with 50i and clearly having 11" rim doesn't help with snow traction. I am pretty sure we'll replace with another setup DWS06 but happy to hear input from others running all season tires in snow belt.

I've been happy with my dws06. Was driving through some deep stuff today that was up to the bottom of the doors. That's about the limit as I was starting to get stuck. |

Great tire and had no issues in the snow so far. I had my dealer swap the summer tires for them and kept the summer tires for lease return. Very quiet tire on the road and handle great in all weather so far.

Really good to hear that folks are finding these tires serviceable in the snow. We generally have maybe 1 -2 snow days a winter in my location in the PNW and I usually take a few ski trips. I'm glad I went with these tires as it sounds like they'll do just fine for the area. I have a set of the Thule chains as back up as well.

They’re good in the snow
Here is a pic of my X5 cruising along with theses tires. You can see the conditions and speed in the HUD, they handle really good for an all-season tire.
