Weird M Drive issue: M1 and M2 swap with each other
So; I was in the dealer a few months ago and overheard another M3 customer moaning/being quite aggressive with a rep about how his M1 and M2 modes did not work properly. Being in IT; I naturally assumed that he was did not know how to make it work, and was kicking off about his own inability to master the system. Had a laugh with my rep about it at the time....!
Fast forward to now; and I have had to eat my words/a big slice of humble pie. My M3 also has a weird problem with modes; which is increasing as time passes. Sometimes when I start the car M1 is the 'fast' settings, with M2 as the 'sedate' settings, as I programmed it. Other times I get in, and the modes have literally swapped, with M2 having M1's functions and vice-versa. The 'economy' display underneath the rev counter is different as well. I'm not making this up; I have seen it in action. It does not do any harm; but is just annoying; and I believe is the same issue that the other guy I overheard was having; leading me to wonder as to if this is a bug? Anyone got any experience of this? Had to eat my words; will teach me for being typical arrogant IT person!!

Are you using the same key fob ?

Agreed. Sounds like you might be using different key fob. Took me a while to figure this one out myself. Also will keep different radio and seat settings.
I now keep one key fob with a different keychain so i know that is the back up. Hope thats the issue your having otherwise ????? Good luck with that and let us know. |
