VFF-102 20", 265/30 or 275/30 PSS? Help!!

Hi guys,

Sorry to be a pain on a trivial matter, I'm about to pull the trigger on some 20" Vorsteiner VFF-102 in Carbon Graphite and i have spent almost a week going between tire widths.

The wheels measure 20 x 9.5 and 20 x 10.5 for the front and rears respectively!

Vorsteiner themselves recommend 265/30 Front, 295/30 rear, but i have seen all sorts run on these.

I will be going for Michelin PSS.

For the rears i have settled on 295/30 (up for debate) as i like the beefy look in the rear and there should be no clearance issues but fronts I'm debating between 265/30 & 275/30.

The roads here in the UK are terrible and so I'm looking to also swap my H&R sports springs for KW HAS so please bear this in mind!

What do you guys run and what would you recommend?
How (if at all) will the handling be affected between the two? Im new to changing wheels so i would like to gain the most out of handling characteristics.
Will i really notice a 3mm increase in the sidewall between 265/30 & 275/30?

Many thanks, and sorry for the super long-ass message.

Here's the car for your viewing pleasure!

If I were you, I'd go with the 275/30/20 for the front.

295/30/20 - 27.0" diameter
275/30/20 - 26.5" diameter
265/30/20 - 26.3" diameter

Here is a car that we did a couple months ago on VFF 102 275/30/20 front

The car below is on the HAS kit as well, but is running a 3mm spacer up front.

With the HAS kit you will need to run the 265/30/20 to clear the large perches.

So in terms of the original post, would you say 275/30 + 3mm is better than 265/30. How does something like this affect handling?

What would you guys as a shop, recommend and why?

You're overthinking this and really making it a lot harder than its, the shop already told you you cannot run to 275 because of the KW HAS so you need to go with the 265

I've been thinking about the HAS kit for my M4 but I saw in another thread that 275/35/19 (which I currently have on the oem front 19's) wont work with the HAS. This car pictured is running 275 fronts with a 3mm spacer and it works. Wondering if you know if a spacer will work with the HAS on the oem 19's w 275/35/19 up front. Thanks

what do you mean you cant run 275? The picture is a 275 front with a 3mm spacer. Looks like that works to me.

Here is our car

We are running 275/30/20 and 295/30/20 dropped on KW clubsports. Wh have the Pirelli's which might run a little narrower than the PSS's so I would say its close with a HAS kit and spacer. I would lean more towards a 265 if you go with the PSS's.

Thanks Kevin,

Yeah i think 265 it is then as ill be going for PSS! The reason I'm switching from H&R to KW HAS & 20s is mainly for ground clearance! I am hoping it helps, do you have any idea or could you measure how far the front is off the ground on your AY M4? This is mine currently:

I believe you will have the same issue as if you overlay the crossection of the two wheel/tire spec, this is what you get:
