After months of internal debate...I got my first M Car
Hello all!!
Just picked up my Space Grey e92 M3 ZCP DCT yesterday!! And I am in LOVE with it!! I started off with a Scion tC in high school. It was quick to me and I loaded it with audio equipment (sounded fantastic). I traded it for my 2012 Camry SE V6 for practicality reasons right around high school graduation. The power increase shocked me initially but soon it just became my get around car. I recently graduated nursing school and since I paid my Camry off way early, I decided to find a toy and use my Camry for daily duties. Immediately, my dad put me on to the C63AMG. I drove a few and I loved the speed and the sound right off but the exterior appearance kept leaving me wanting more. Then, I looked into Audi. I drove an S5 and thought about buying it and tuning it but decided against that for warranty reasons. I then thought about trading my Camry and getting an S6 for one do it all vehicle. I was bored with the car halfway through the test drive. I then looked into the M3 vs 335is debate to see if I could get nasty speed and the BMW look. I ended up DQ'ing the 335is bc the M3 looks so much better and I would have to drop a decent chunk into the 335is to outrun the M3 in a straight line and lose warranty, only to still have a 335 (no offense to owners. I love the car for what it is). I then looked American for cheap power. Loved the Mustang and Challenger. Hated the Camaro interior. Ultimately felt the American cars were just that: cheap performance. Finally, it came down to BMW M3, Porsche Cayman S and the C63 got put back in bc of that freaking addicting sound and torque. As you guys can see, I chose the M3. It was much more practical than the Porsche. And better looking than the C63. It doesn't have the torque of the C63 which is what made this so hard for me but after driving them back to back, I didn't care. After finally having the car to myself all day, I am IN LOVE with it. I finally understand what people talk about with M Cars. The way it revs, the way it holds the road, how solid she feels, even the exhaust note is much more enjoyable than expected. The Individual Audio is nice too. I just love everything about it, except the gas mileage lol I do have moisture in both headlights tho and one side is actually out so the dealer is looking into that today for me. Once that is fixed I will be one ridiculously happy camper! Pics to come! |

Welcome to the club. And in the best color, too!
Your car isn't salvaged, is it? Headlight condensation isn't typical on these cars.

And headlight condensation IS a common issue even on a brand new car. My brand new e92 335 had it but it went away eventually. However if it keeps happening then try taking it to the dealer to get them replaced.

Congratulations. I sort of wished I spent that much time trying out different cars before purchasing my M. I spent a week in a C63 and drove a few 997s. But then I drove the e92 M and like you, it just felt right. It's got the best balance of any of the cars I drove.
My thought is this--if you like the car now, you will absolutely love it after living with it for a few months. |

Congrats, you are going to love it!
In regards to the headlights, I have no condensation in either of mine.

Welcome! I had a similar experience looking for a car, the M3 just felt right and it's almost been a year later and I still love driving it!

Mine is space gray as well, and I do like it much more than the titanium silver (TiAg) of my last M3. Congratulations!

Congrats OP.
Yes, headlight condensation does happen..had it on mine about 18 months ago on one headlight. Moisture can get into the top assembly and in my case, they replaced all the headlight internals. Quote:
