Question about installing a throttle actuator.
I read through the diy, but it didn't specifically say that the battery needed to be disconnected. Does the battery need to be disconnected for this swap out? I would assume YES but wanted to be sure disconnecting the battery didn't mess with something else.
Also are codes like dsc errors stored in memory so that they need to be manually cleared or will something like a battery disconnect erase them, I ask because I read somewhere that someone swapped out the throttle actuator and the dsc type codes disappeared. Thanks for any advice or comments |

Disconnecting the battery when doing electrical work is a good idea. However, there are no bare wires or grounds that need to be messed with. The codes are stored and will not effect driving after the actuators are changed or cause the codes to come back. The codes are tied to the actuators failing the self check on start up. Once the actuators pass the self check, the car won't go into limp mode or re-throw the codes.
