OE Paint Color on Brake Calipers
Does anyone have any clue where I might find the color code for the OE 6-piston brake calipers? I just bought a used 135i that the previous owner evidently found said color and painted the wheels and a strip on the side skirts in the same color.
It looks pretty good, but I'd like to get some touch-up for a couple of spots on the wheel and no one, including my dealer can help me out. I've been unable to track down the previous owner who is deployed. I had thought it was a close match to a VW color (United Grey) but when I help up a part I had from an old car in that color, mine is darker and more metallic. Close but no joy.... its darker in person that these pictures show as well |

OK, that sounds about right. I might have thought space gray but in certain light the wheels have a purplish hue. Is A22 the correct color code? I may order some to experiment with on my racing helmet

Early models had Sparkling Graphite (A22) calipers, then (I think N55 and later) they switched to Space Grey (A52).
Yours really might be Space Grey - had to go the garage and check out mine. See for yourself: Sparkling Graphite |

Those look exactly like my brakes. My car has a September 09 build date so I think that is what I have. I plan on ordering a $10 touch up paint in the Sparking Graphite to test and make sure, but this is the closest I have come to getting the color. Thanks to the forums and the quick replies from you guys I am on my way!
