Damaged carbon roof. Advice please.
So. 1400 miles into glorious ownership and on top of my 3 windscreen chips I tonight picked up another stone chip. I first thought it was the windscreen but it seems unfortunately it caught the front edge of the carbon fibre roof. It's chipped pretty deep, through the lacquer and made an actual hole probably 5-8mm across. you'd think I've been tailgating but honestly I've been staying well back from cars in front to protect my new baby. This car seems to be a stone magnet. The weather has been pretty wet here lately and lots of stones and mud running off into the roads so can't really avoid it. Damn uk weather.
Anyway I haven't much experience with carbon fibre. What's the deal with damage, does it spread and get worse if left or not? I'll get it fixed if that's even an option, just wondering how urgent this is? I don't fancy a whole roof replacement if the thing starts to spread or something. Alternatively if there are any diy "tide me over" tips I'm all ears. Body shops not going to be much help until the 4th Jan i'd guess. And Happy Christmas to all.

from my limited experience with carbon bike frames etc you can get them repaired but not with the right weave etc. They are formed as a unit and whilst they can be repaired it will not look right. Might be an insurance claim for a new roof panel chap... sorry....

don't know about the fixes, but a nice sized rock hit my roof awhile back, left a smaller chip on the driver side.
Next time, I am clear bra'ing the entire car.

IMO Xpel doesn't do shit against rocks chips. Have it on my front bumper and the rock went right through it and the paint
