New Car Help

So I'm trying to get a newer car next month and its come down to these 3

2013 S4 DSG W/O Sport Diff 39k miles
2012 E92 335i M-Sport RWD Auto 32k miles
2010 E92 M3 6MT 28k miles

Power
S4 has 333/325
335 has 300/300
M3 has 414/295

0-60
S4 and 335 have nearly the same 0-60 time. Mid to upper 4s.
M3 is in the low 4s

My thoughts
The m3 is my dream car. I've been looking for the perfect one forever. This is close. This cars specs are exactly as I wanted: 6mt, white on red. But I also wanted the LCI ZCP. Also being a 6 year old car that may be certified age may be a factor. It is also the oldest and most expensive. All these cars fit my price range of 30-40k. I drove the s4 and loved everything about it especially the alcantara seats that hug you. I have driven the e92s though. I don't mind the awd if there's power but I prefer rwd. These cars are optioned well enough for me. It's just a matter of getting an older ///M car that I love for a good amount of money or change brands into something newer thats just as good but higher mileage.

That's a easy one...Check the keyfob data-history , swap LCI taillights , and your dream car is ready to hit the 8400-rpm redline.

What does the key fob history show? I like your thinking though.. I hope the none of these sell by the end of next month.

When I was shopping for my M3, I test drove an S4 (V8). It was a good car, but the power and handling felt better in the M3.
Do you drive a lot of miles? The fuel mileage isn't the greatest and something to consider in the M3, although lots of people daily drive them. With that being said, I try to find excuses to take it out, the sound is intoxicating and it's a blast to drive.

Keyfob shows history and everything of what was done on the car ...maintenance,oil change, repairs etc...
At least if it was done with a BMW/Dealer .
Advice :
Personal I would contact the previous owner/s of the car as well .
Because we never know..And see it as an extra assurence .

I drive roughly on average 25-30 miles a day weekdays. And about 20 of those miles is bumper to bumper traffic. Weekends can be anywhere from 20-120 miles depending on where I go. Sometimes Mexico lol

I read the Carfax and it looks great. Same dealer for every service and inspection since purchase. And a plus is that the owner roughly drove it around 5k miles a year since 2010.

I never regreted my ///M3 ...not one single minute .

I personally wouldn't contact the previous owner, but when the dealer gave me the BMW service records his contact info was on it. Actually, his phone number was under "Home" in the iDrive as well.

You're on a BMW forum brother... Most of the answers will be one sided. You're asking on this forum and not the Audi forum for a reason... I think you're mind is already made up. But that M3 and welcome to the family 😊

I was in somewhat of the same situation. I wanted a ZCP E90 but when the I came across a 2010 with everything I wanted but ZCP, I went ahead and bought it. Mainly because Interlagos Blue with Silver leather is a pretty rare combination so the odds of finding a ZCP with that color combo, proper service history, lower mileage etc. was pretty slim.

Besides, most, if not all the ZCP features can be added on separately.

You're absolutely right. Hopefully If this car doesn't sell by the end of next month. It'll be parked in my garage being babied at night and tearing the streets apart in the day in an orderly and civil fashion of course lol

That's true also it's rare to find certain combos so when you do find one you should just get on it as soon as possible.

Saw a couple e92 M3's before I jumped on mine. Waited a year for mine and was always second guessing it for a brand new 435i X-Drive M-Sport. Now I found mine with low miles, 2013 AW/ Fox red extended, Fully loaded with ZCP. Couldn't be happier. I DD it too. I rarely see other ///M drivers here. When I do, they don't seem to be happy when I wave at them. Only guy that was happy to see a fellow ///M driver was a M4. It looked really nice props to the guy.

Edit: Live in VA originally from New York, I went to Long Island to pick mine up. Check Rallye BMW. My dealer told me usually around spring/summer they have a bunch of M3's for sale if you really want to wait that long for the perfect one.

I've owned a tuned B8 S4 along with intake and exhaust previously before buying my dream car, the M3. The S4 was a great everyday DD with neck snapping power (about 425hp with the tune, 0-60 in 3.9 sec) but something was "missing" even after many upgrades to the suspension. I guess it was just now "raw" enough for me. I don't DD the M so I didn't need an AWD. You won't go wrong with either, but if the M is you dream car then get it or you will regret.

Don't bother with that particular M3. I checked it out and it was riced out and didn't drive well. On paper it looks good, 1 owner, low miles, well maintained, ext. fox red (rare) - but when you see it and drive it, it's a different story.

I would look on here as there are many M3's for sale that are well taken care of by other enthusiasts.

Rallye is where this 2010 e92 is waiting for me to take her home lol. Not a fan of how they treat customers there but if I see a car I'm interested in like I do now I wouldn't mind dealing with them. We got our family car there. 2015 x5.

I'll see if I can hold off til then. Or atleast if my wallet can with my e39 lol

I think if I can't find my perfect m3 yet I'll wait with the s4 just until i find a good one even if I go cross country.
