no pilot super sports available!!- best alternative tire?

called tire rack and checked another company- no more pilot super sports available for months... need new rears!

anyone tried S-04 bridgestones? i would need 4 tires, but it is reasonably cheap.

i had them on my c63 and loved them, but i have never had a car with michelin pss.... so no comparisons.

i figure i can use the s-04's on the track once i can get the pss's in stock...

i just replaced all four of mine; i went with the michelin pss predecessor, the michelin ps2 as they were available and the pss were not. and i needed tyres straight away. i've only had the ps2s for a month or so but am happy with them so far. (if you head over to the "wheels and tyres" subforum - there is a lot of discussion on this topic.)

My rears look like shit and today I found a nail in the fucking side of a tire. No pss's to be found and I will soon be an Audi driver.

Excuse my faul language. I know Audi was a bad word.

I've always had a soft spot for PS2's... Long love affair on my motorcycles with PS2's...

Dunlop has always made good rubbers for two wheels as well, their Q2 and Q3 - wonder if they have an equivalent for cars...

Yeah I'm not sure what's going on, they were out of stock for a while with no ETA, then two weeks ago I definitely saw them back in stock. Why don't you get the 285/35-19 instead? 275 are small for a 10" rim size anyway. The 285s are showing available on 12/01/2015.

If worse comes to worse when I need to change my tires I'm thinking of trying Toyo Proxes 1. They are Max Summer Performance tires just like the PSS with similar speed and traction ratings. However, their tread-wear rating is 240 vs 300 with PSS, so expect a shorter life out of them. I haven't tried them before nor was I able to find many reviews about them, so I can't tell you if they're any good.

Guess I got lucky with my timing. End of October I needed two new rear tires and BMW Bellevue had them in stock. He thought I was crazy when I mentioned that there's certainly no surplus of them floating around.

You've ever been happy with them?! I can't stand them, but living in Sammamish and working in Bellevue makes them the only real choice for official BMW work.

The S04s weigh in five pounds more per corner vs the BMW spec MPSS. They also have a lower treadware grade. They seem to be rated well though I have never run them. Ill be going to 305 RE11s when i finish toasting these 295 MPSS ice skates Im on now.
