Jack for M3?

Just wondering what people recommend for a low profile, extended jack to reach under the front of the M3 to the jack point (as well as in the back under the diff)? I have a low profile jack already, but the problem is it isn't long enough to reach all the way under to the front jack point without first jacking up the front corner and putting the wheel down on some blocks/bricks.

Can someone recommend a jack that is both low enough, and long enough to reach all the way under the M3 while it sits on the ground?

Honestly I've given up on trying to do it at that front point, for largely the same reason. I just do the front by raising the rear side jack points.

The rear jacking point behind the diff is easy; you can get to easily, I just have the problem where the jack won't raise high enough to get any meaningful height without having to add a large rubber block.

Maybe one of the low profile long reach Arcan or Torin jacks.

You can also get there with two small lightweight Harbor Freight aluminum jacks that go for $59 with coupon or on sale. One lifts a side jack point enough for the other to go under the center.

Thats basically what I do now, but my current jack struggles to get the rear high enough for stands to fit in the front at their lowest settings, which barely gets the front tire off the ground. Plus, I don't like the way the chassis flexes when doing it this way. Probably not hurting anything, but it gives me a horrible feeling

I was thinking something like that, but I don't want to drop $200+ on a jack and find I am in the same boat as I am right now.

There's no link on the Costco site, but plenty in store. Works great!

That's not low profile unfortunately. It wont fit under the car from front.

Thats basically what I have now (same jack, different manufacturer). How do you use yours exactly, because mine won't fit under the front jacking point. Not even close.

My jack is kind of old and I think it's time to update anyways, so I may as well get one that works. Ill still keep it but I do want a nicer jack if there is one that works with the M3 jacking points.

You can make anything work. I have old massive craftsman with big deep top that just goes around the jack points or put a hunk of wood or floor Matt on it for other lift points. Then I have the standard harbor freight aluminum for at the track. Also have ezcarlift that get used all the time.

Some other folks have recommended this one, but I have not used it yet. Am thinking of giving it a try, but would be nice to hear from someone that has it.

For those not getting the height they want with a small jack in order to fit jackstands, do the obvious. Try a block on top of the jack or get a jack with a few more inches lift height. I think lift height varies by as much as about 6 inches from 1.5 to 3 ton jacks.

One of the reviewer comments says the max lift is 20". Not sure if the comment is accurate. Some of the others will go 24".

Too expensive for my budget but if it reaches front jack point then it is worth it.

I use the OTC 1532 jack (the 1533 kit includes stands) but I never go for the center jack point. I just got a pair of ECS Tuning jack pad adapters and go from the side. The few times I've needed the whole front end up at the same time I got my hands on another jack and at least had the second adapter handy.

AC Hydraulics makes a very long low profile jack but it is neither portable nor inexpensive.

I picked this one up today on the recommendation of my friend that has one for his M5.

http://www.harborfreight.com/2-ton-l...ump-60678.html

Raises to 24" and can reach far enough under the car to hit the center jack point. Got it for $120.00

After going through a few Craftsman jacks, I use an AC Hydraulics which I picked up when I had my Z06. They're not cheap, but it gets the job done and should last most of my lifetime.
