Exclamation New M3 Owner! (How did I do on price?)

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to say how excited I am to join the M family, and this forum!

Family has owned plenty of BMWs (cousin owns a 2013 750li w/ M package currently). My first BMW was a 2004 745i (just traded it in for this car). I had a lot of problems with the vehicle, and swore I would never buy a BMW again, but I just found an M3, and bought it instantly after driving it.

Its a 2011 M3 with only 10500 miles! Its also the Frozen Edition (http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...-black-edition)

The previous owner also installed a "Akrapovic" custom exhaust, and did a complete titanium job right to the manifolds. He babied the car, and completely wrapped the front end (fenders, hood, front bumper) in a matte black wrap, to protect the paint.

All in all I paid $37000 US for the vehicle. I think I did fairly well, just trying to get some opinions from the experts here! Very excited to be apart of this M family, what what I've read, the E92 is an amazing vehicle in performance and reliability!

Congrats! 2011 M3 w/ 10.5k miles for $37k? That sounds like an awesome deal. I'm in the market and want white, but if I found this deal I would of got it too lol.

Enjoy it in good health man!

That's what I thought too! Considering it was the Limited Edition + had the whole custom exhaust already I thought it was a no brainier, but again, the guys here on the fourm would know best!

Matte Black is my favorite color hands down for cars. Had a Matte Black G35 coupe, and I loved that car.

Wow! That's one splendid deal. Almost too good to be true! Congrats!

Make sure you follow the proper detailing procedures as this is 'Frozen' paint. Standard issue cleaning/waxing won't do.

Being that black is my favourite colour, a special black such as yours means, I've probably just seen pictures of "one of" the best looking M3's out there.

I say "one of," cos the car has 19 "brothers"

I don't know exchange rates too well, but a guy over in the UK just paid £38k for a 12,000 miler (only one year newer) so your deal must be awesome.

You did really GOOD !!

First wanted to thank everyone for their replies

Just curious, do you know where I can find some info to maintain and protect the paint?? I was thinking a touchless car wash pass?

$37k does sound to good to be true. Has the car been involved in an accident because that could explain why the price was so low.

I have frozen gray. I hand wash mine, haven't done any of the "matte wax". I use Chemical Guys matte car wash and occasionally the Chem guys Matte Detailer.

For year, mileage and frozen paint, $37k seems too good to be true. If it is, congrats!

Is it cpo? How much did you get for the 7 series trade in? Price wise it's a great deal. But I would look into service history, accident history, and if it had the 1200 mile service.

I'd say you did very well, with the add-on stuff that was pretty much a steal.

Looks bad-ass all matte black too

Congrats!!

The $37k was most likely after the trade-in value was deducted. If not, this is one hell of a deal considering the $5k+ exhaust system and the limited frozen paint option + vinyl wrap.

even if it had been in accident, $37K is really too good to be true for a limited edition with 4k worth of exhaust...

but congrats OP, you really got a hell of a deal!

Exclamation

Hey Everyone!

So to all asking, car is completely clean, no accidents. Car did have a hail claim, but luckily nothing was repainted. Also I noted someone said if it had its 12000 service done? What does this entail?

I work at an Infiniti dealership, and the M3 was traded in. So I got it at the invoice price we paid for its trade before we put a markup on the vehicle. My dealer also gave me $3700 for the trade, considering I bought it last year for $4600, not too bad of a deal. The 7 series was also blowing out blue exhaust fumes, so it was time to go !
