I recently picked up a f82 6MT and I just noticed my passenger mirror has some form of haze that windex or denatured alcohol won't remove.

Anyone seen this before? I assume my only solution is warranty replacement?

It's doesn't look like that at all angles either. You have to look at it the right way for it to show up.

If it's defective, I'm sure it'll get replaced easily at the dealer under warranty.

My rear window has some haze on it from the factory in one spot. I just cope with it. Not worth tearing my car apart for. Oh well.

That's my worry. I don't want my dealer touching it either. I always end up with another issue when I go to dealer

Change the word "CLOSER" on the mirror to "CLEARER". Problem solved.

I kid though. If nothing will get it off, see if they'll replace it.

That's doesn't look very good. Not like it's just in one small area.
I'd imagine the dealership would replace this.
Good Luck.

I wouldn't worry about the dealer replacing an external mirror. This is essentially a plug-and-play part.

If it won't come off with denatured, then go get a new one.

The glass itself is easy to take off. Take it to the dealership, wont' take long for them to replace.

Agree with the above, the side mirror should not be any problem to fix/remove/replace

Fixed it with some bathroom lime/calcium remover stuff. One wipe of that in some circles and it finally came off! Woo Hoo!

Yea, my dealer won't touch my car. They threw one of my M5 wheels off there balancer. Destroyed the rim. Wrecked my m3 lip, installed the air box lid on crooked (how do you even do that) and many other things.

Anyways, I fixed it myself! Clear as day now!

Thanks guys.

Irvine BMW was the one that somehow always ends up doing something majorly wrong.

Sadly I am friends with two service managers who were very good to me, but there techs are a joke.

Yeah I was going to recommend using some Bar Keeps Friend powder. That should remove it gently.
