Sweet smell inside car
Smells almost like bubblegum - only inside the vehicle and trunk. Any ideas on what the issue could be? It started suddenly and does not seem to be going away.

Most likely coolant leaking from any of the HVAC components closest to the firewall, not sure though due to the smell being in the trunk as well.

Seems legit...
Yes, coolant has a "sweet" sort of smell.

Clutch?
This was my first actual guess too. Keep an eye on your coolant level if you need to keep driving before taking it in.

Do you have the carbon leather trim? I noticed the smell in my car changed when I swapped out my aluminum trim to the carbon leather. But it could just be from the previous owner's car that got embedded onto the trim.

Looking back however, some ONR ( Optimum No Rinse ) wash may have spilled in the trunk some time back. Maybe thats the smell... |
