Price check: 2013 M3 for $45,500

Finally made up my mind, I have my eyes on a 2013 E92. Gonna go DCT; I love how it rev-matches on the downshifts! Here are the specs:

31,000 miles, in service date 9/13
trade-in car, Silvestone Metallic
excellent condition (a couple of minor scratches in the door that can be touched up)
new Conti DW tires
DCT
Competition Package
Tech Package
Extended Novillo leather, black
Cold Weather package
upgraded stereo
spoiler

$45,500 or $49,500 if I want the Platinum 5/60k additional warranty (car has 2 years on factory warranty). I called the BMW dealer, this is the same warranty they sell, although they wanted $5150 for it, not $4000 (negotiated down).

This was traded in toward a very nice Jeep, and at a Chrysler truck dealer, they are out in the country and are aggressive in moving it, especially this time of year. An M3 isn't a common sight in these parts!

Reasonable price? KBB has private party value higher than that. Seems like an awful lot of car for that price. One of the regional BMW dealers has a 335is, 2012 with similar options and 45k miles, for $40,000. I think I would rather own an M3 that is a year newer, more warranty, 15k less miles, for an additional $10,000.

I got the car onto a long test drive, and wow! Also 23mpg when cruising at 65 on the highway, not bad! Something about owning an M for sure; my heart tells me this is the car I want. Just want to make sure I am not getting ripped off.

Sounds like a great deal for a fully spec'd comp DCT 2013 in very good condition. It's an incredible car...and sounds like you understand what makes it such an incredible car. No comparison against a 335 unless all you do is daily commuting. The M3 was meant for much more.

Nice deal man. I'd check the car fax to see if anything happened. Congratz on the find!

See if they'll let you take it for an once-over at Strictly BMW in Bellevue. If that checks out, looks as if you've found yourself a gem.

I agree, looks like a great deal. Make sure to do the normal accident checks and then jump on it.

carfax is clean. They weren't aware of any accidents: nothing in the front end I could see (quarter panel bolts had never been turned, hood had the factory stickers, no evidence of re-spray) and I didn't see anything on the bumper, but didn't know what to look for necessarily back there. It was registered on the southern Oregon Coast, so likelihood of accidents is very small (that is a rural area with just a few roads: I grew up there, my county was the size of Rhode Island and probably had 20,000 people living in it, as it is all forest land; no snow or adverse weather, no traffic jams longer than 4 cars waiting for a light to change, just lots of rain). They had it at $51k just a few weeks ago, but have been dropping the price steadily. I have it held (there was another guy ready to purchase but I am 1st in line), will get a PPI tomorrow. I just think it is a combo of "time of year" and it being in an out of the way area. They told me exactly that: if they were in the city, it would have been sold a long time ago, but being out in the sticks, they just don't sell "city" cars like that; it has to be priced right for someone to go all the way out there to purchase.

Looks promising! And man does it drive well.

Sounds like a steal. For comparison, my 2012 e92 AW fully loaded with 10k miles was $49k.

Which dealer are you getting this from? I also reside in WA and went to a LOT of dealerships before purchasing mine at Porsche of Bellevue.

I would not sell my 2013 stripper for anything like that number. And that "in service" date would imply that it was one of the very last e92 M3's ever built. A good car to keep forever.

I got a 2013 E93 fully loaded for $47,500 recently, for comparison. 8,200 miles.

Whoever is selling this car at such at low price is NOT getting a good deal i can tell you that. He must have debts to cover and needs to raise fast cash, absolutely jump on it before he gets wiser. Car is worth wayyyyy more than that. like $60,000 at least. It's the last year last few month build.
