Pre-Poll: 437 M Wheel/Tire Question

Has anyone done a poll to survey the number of black wheels with PSS tires vs. those that have silver wheels with Conti's?

I'm only bringing this up because I noticed that 2 other M3's that took delivery on the same day had Michelins on black 437 M wheels, while my car having silver 437 M wheels got the Continentals. Makes me wonder if the assembly line for black wheels are stocked with Michelins.

Would anyone be interested if I started a poll?

You can start a poll, but the results won't be relevant. I have been to the factories several times, including seeing where the tires are mounted. They just go in batches. For example, they may get 400 tires from Michelin, to match with 400 that came from the wheel vendor, on a Monday. They mount all of those, and wait for the next batch. The black/silver wheel spec the same tire, so they wouldn't distinguish between PSS/Conti.

P.S. I picked up mine on 10/19, silver 437M with PSS. Also, my tires were made week 38, car finished production week 41.

Interesting. I didn't think about it in terms of batches. Not sure what week my tires were in production. Would be interesting to find out.

When you get your car back, check on the sidewall for an oval with 4-digits: wwyy.
