I can't take this video seriously. Firstly, the comparison is being done on a tight kart track (Adams in Riverside). This track is way too small to even remotely allow the M4 to stretch it's legs, they even made a chicane on the back straight.

Secondly, what qualifies the KBB employee to be a "fast driver"? "Countless track days" doesn't mean shit. Also, how does one spin out in an FF car... He has mediocre lines and doesn't use the full width of the track.

I think this was more for entertainment than to prove any definitive results. The point was that one driver was a lot better than the other.

I understand that, but imagine if the M4 were allowed to go triple digits, it could possibly have an alternative outcome.

I feel ya, but for a KBB video this was decently fun. I usually don't expect much from them from an enthusiast standpoint. Like you say, this was far from spot on.

cant a video just be fun? why does it have to be a serious review of the m4. i think they were illustrating the driver vs driver and giving the less experienced one more horsepower.

Not against that, but it could have been executed better.

Seems like you are taking it TOO seriously. First, it was for entertainment. Second, it was to show the difference in lap times based on driver skill. At the end the more experienced driver drove the M4 and beat his own lap time in the Civic. So the M4 "won".

I agree the track was crap for what they were doing.

The latter is simple. After your cross the finish line, turn the wheel while yanking the e-brake. For a little more drama, foot off the gas at the same time as the other 2.

I don't even consider Adams to be a track - it's more a gokart track. At least the "fast guy" had car control skills - that can't be said about most people. IF you're using MDM, it's a joke.

That being said, this is the typical demographic of people with high powered cars thinking they are badass.

Yeah, and Top Gear proved that a V8M3 gets better mileage than a Prius under proper circumstances. We've all driven different cars on different tracks and know that you can tell whatever story you want with this video. Drive what makes you smile and what works for you. For instance, I wouldn't want to drive an F80 in Spain. It would be to hard to fit into too many places. YMMV

Many of the towns I travelled through in Spain had pretty tight quarters. I'd be happier there with a smaller car...

Thanks for posting!

For those who aren't familiar with Adams cart track, its smaller than an autox and you're topping out at 50mph. Great track for supermoto and gokarts

Fabulously entertaining! Which I think was the main point. And skill over power. Hell, I even learned that in Forza. Great stuff.

Wow, much buzzkill on this thread.
It's a fun and entertaining video that shows that any car can be faster if the driver improves their skills.
That's the video.
