AD08 R do they fit wider?

I am thinking of switching stock 19 tires (Conti 5Ps) with stock fitments 255 - 275 / 35 / 19 AD08 R. I hear AD08 Rs could fit wider, so a 255 is really a 265 and a 275 is a 285.

Hoping someone can chime in to say this is or isn't the case.

I'd go 275 (F) and 295 (R), but I'm concerned that A) Yoks are limited to 30s when going that wide and B) the fronts will rub the inner liner (like my E92 did when I uprated to 255s up front). Note, I was lowered on Swifts (1 inch lower), same deal on this M4.

Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

This has been the case in my experience. The bead-to-bead is still true to size, but there is a little more meat on the sidewalls. Hope this answers your question.

They should still look pretty flush. The stock PSS rears are stretched from the factory. The fronts might be slightly meatier, but as long as you stick with stock sizes, it shouldn't look weird or bulging

That is the route I am going to go with in the spring.

Thanks guys, I was hoping bead to bead they were oversized, but I guess 10+ isn't the biggest deal, it's really the stickier rubber that would make the difference. I'm actually now contemplating PSC 2s instead.

They are just more square at the shoulders and at the end of the tread section.

FWIW, I run 275/30-19 and 305/30-19 on OEM rims. 10mm spacer up front, and lowered and I have no rubbing issues.

Ride is as good if not better than MPSS IMO.

Thanks for your feedback, and now I wonder if I should do what you did. You have picts you could share of how low?

In /30 profile ratio, but still gives an idea of the width.

Note his sig - he has an F80 M3. The wider tires will naturally not rub because of his bigger wheel wells. Might not be the case for the M4.

The F80 and F82 have identical bottom front ends (sans the top greenhouse) where turning lock would / might create rub, it has nothing to do with the rear regarding the issue of rubbing.

What's your reason in going to these tires? Traction? I have been thinking Along the same lines as you BUT I have not seen any conclusive qual (mainly user opinion) and or quant showing better traction.

I can't wait to get these tires on my car.

I have no experience with them, but I have a lot of experience with this category of tire, as I have used the RE-11 on 4 different cars now.

They make a sports car much more rewarding.

As to these tires specifically, I am looking forward to a sharper turn-in, as they are known for being super sharp on initial turn-in. Also looking forward to the increased traction and stiffer sidewalls for greater cornering grip.

With how restrictive MDM mode is, I think these tires will do a lot for the fun factor of this car for the summer months. I was planning on doing Euro MDM coding, but think I will wait and get these tires on first and see if the increased grip fixes the issue first.

Since we are in an El Nino year here is CA, I will keep the PSS's on until spring.
