Winter Tire/Wheel Suggestions for NYC
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for my particular situation. I live in the city and leased my M4, which I only use on the weekends.
Given I leased the car and only drive it on weekends, I am looking for an inexpensive tire/wheel option to be able to use the car on cold/wet weekends. I also have no place to store the summer tires, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, DC |

So if you can't store the summers that means you toss out the summer tires and replace with something else?
You'll be forced into an all season then if that's the case. They will get you by, but aren't good by any means in just about any facet. |

Some tire shops or dealerships offer storage. Also there's the option of finding a friend or relative with some extra space and offering them some cash or a case of beer to store them for you.

I live in NYC as well. I feel your pain about a nice winter setup. I been looking for a nice winter setup combo. unfortunately there aren't many options when it comes to how much u willing to spend versus the look u want. the bottom line is, going for a 18" wheel setup will be your best option if u looking to save money. I have a F80 M3 and I choose to go with the 19" VMR V710's with PIRELLI SOTTOZERO winter tire square setup. As far as storage goes maybe a friend or relative can help u with that. Goodluck

thanks for the suggestions, looks like I need to call in some favors!
silly question, are most of you using a tire center to put the set-ups on your car, or just doing it yourself? I would need someone to put the set-up on my car and then somehow transaport the summer set-up to wherever I store them...logistically not easy! |
