Rear Diff Problem?

Frustrating morning for me...

I had the 1200 mile service last week and was driving the car for the second time since the service. I noticed a grinding sound coming from the passenger rear wheel. I thought I had a pebble grinding the rotors, but I also noticed some fluid under the tire.

I also captured a video of the sound the car was making (try to ignore the hazards blinking).

I pulled the car over and had it taken on a flatbed to the nearest dealership. No update from the service department today, but after a little bit of research here, I think I know where this is headed.

sorry to hear that, yeah a humming noise from the rear and leaking rear diff fluid is no good. Did you hit something? Or did did you jack the rear using the diff as a jack point?

Nope. This is the second time I've driven it in the last week and it's just been sitting in the garage. It was in for the 1200 mile service last Monday. I think I'm prematurely connecting the dots.

I'll find out more tomorrow as the current dealership didn't get a chance to work on it today.

Since they service the diff in the 1200 mile service, maybe something didn't get put back correctly

Well, that's what I'm thinking but I'm trying my best not to jump to conclusions. The dealership my car is at is different from where it was serviced last week. So I feel ill get an honest appraisal of the situation.

They swapped my rear differential fluid to combat this issue. Seems like it fixed the problem.
