ED: What're you guys doing for cell reception?
For those of you who are doing european delivery, what are you doing for cell reception? I would assume that some sort of cellphone/data reception would be useful for directions and emergencies while you're over there. Anyone getting international plans or buying foreign sim cards?

I did an international plan with 120mb of data. This worked well for me when needing to get directions. Careful though cause when I turned on my cellular data, all my apps started to pull.

Girlfriend has T-Mobile which offers free international 3G service and I'm tethering my phone to hers.
Also use free hotel wifi.

We did an international plan with Verizon, you can cancel after 1 month so it wasn't ludicrous. No need to unlock or jail break your phone.

I recently had a buddy visit me from the States and he was able to get a really cheap T-mobile plan with unlimited data.

I had bought a local SIM card (from a cell phone shop near my hotel) with minuscule data allowance for emergencies (for ~Euro 15 or 25), but never used it. Data was either 2G or 3G == pathetically slow. My VZW phone also had international roaming enabled (as another backup), but I never used it to avoid egregious roaming rates.
Instead, I relied on free WiFi to place Skype calls and/or explore the area with Google maps. Free WiFi is widely available in Germany and Austria in most public places (hotels, cafes, BMW Welt, BMW Museum, etc). a
