traveling from SC to MI

I will be picking up my F80 M3 in about a month from PCD in SC and driving home to MI.

I was thinking of covering the entire front clip with blue painters tape before departing to protect from rock chips/etc before Xpel goes on... yas marina color

Any negatives?

I-75 the whole way... please let your road commission know that I will be driving through in Oct and to remove all construction barrels and I mean ALL! Thank you.

What date is your PCD? I don't see your name listed in our September build thread.

Construction should be the least of your worries driving through Ohio during college football season being from Michigan.

Any chance you can get Xpel before departing the Spartanburg locale? I'm not sure painters tape is thick enough to absorb rogue rock chips flying at your front end.

good idea superman but I worry if there is an issue after the fact - not interested in driving to SC vicinity to get it fixed.

Good point. I assumed the Xpel warranty can be honored anywhere. Not sure though.

I am planning on spending an extra day in Spartanburg and having Doug Payne a ExtremeColors do the clear bra install before driving back to TX. Doug does the clear bra on the Performance Centre track cars.

I was concerned about possible issues after the installation, but figure he should know what he's doing. In his e-mail he told me he had done 50+ M4s.

I would sooner have protection installed before making the 1,200 mile trip home.
