How much should I pay for this Limerock?
Im absolutely addicted to this car. Yes, people love or hate the screaming orange paint, the non-performance parts that spike up the price, but I really love it. The car is a SMG with 12410 miles and the asking price is $62977. I feel like the price is fair, however I was wondering what price I can get away with. This car been on the dealer's lot for 6 months+ now, and I check on it EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY TILL THIS DAY. I have owned a ZHP and a 335i in the past, so I'm no foreign to Bimmerz. Anyway, how much do you guys think I can offer the dealer? I want a price that he can't refuse and work with me. Anyway, thanks a lot guys.

its worth what someone is willing to pay, and six months on the lot is no good for them. i would use a vehicle value guide online and offer a "good" price. they most likely got it at "wholesale" price. be prepared to walk away. maybe come back at the end of the month and leave your number and tell them to call when they want to sell it.

First, with all do respect ... the car is DCT, not SMG. And secondly, Limerocks are great but probably won't hold value in the long run. If you can get in around $55k, you'd be getting a great deal, IMO.

Rick Hendrick BMW in NC. just sold a loaded Limerock with 5000 miles on it for $58+...started at $65K and lowered until it sold. Prices seem to be dropping like a rock on all 2013 M3's.

Remember the idiot on here who wouldn't STFU about his Limerock spouting that prices would hit USD $200K very soon due to it's "rarity".

Why are you asking if you feel that the price is fair? If you are willing to pay $63k then that is the fair price for you. If it was me, I wouldn't even look at it. I am one of those guys that even though I like the color I would be over it in 1 month.

I would offer 52K based on 2013 model info. When the dealer quotes it's a LR then ask "What does that have to do with it?" When dealer replies its rare then ask "What makes it rare?" The only answer in my mind is paint, steering wheel, and a bunch of stickers. Paint is a 5K individual option. Wheel is like a 1.5k option. Stickers are useless. That makes the car worth 58.5K without paint and wheel depreciation. With paint and wheel depreciation I would argue the car is worth max 55K. I would not offer 60K because you will end up paying close to ask. If you offer 52K it's very likely you can end up at 55K. However if I were you I would not pay that much for a 2013 M3. Get a 2011 or 2012 M3 for low 40s and wrap the car if need be. At 62K you could be in the F80 M3/M4 variants. Don't get me wrong the E92 M3 is boss and I miss mine every day. However I would be sick to my stomach if I paid 60K for a 2013 car when 2016 is right around the corner.
The only E92 M3 that will hold it's value would be a GTS. Do not pay 60K for this car when it has the EXACT same performance as any 2011+ ZCP DCT. I forgot to add the Performance Exhaust which optioned at 4.5K. Great car but tough call at that price. Last edited by Hurricane; 10-17-2015 at 10:11 AM.. Reason: More Detail |

Speaking as someone who actually works at a dealership, your best bet is to offer 3K below asking. "Throw the credit card on the table saying, do this right now, deal is done". If he comes back with something higher up, stay firm with 3K off, he will start coming down. Then after a while bump up to $2700 off. Then threaten to leave, and you'll see , hell say something like "where do I need to be right now to earn your business". Then you have him, lock him in.
Didnt read how old post was, I guess anyone buying a car in the future can use this technique. |
