N54 with 10.5 quart (10L) oil

Well, I was wrong to put that much, but I have no idea what are potential problems I will have.

Computer says oil level is OK. I put most expensive Motul 5w40. The engine sound is different now. Cruising engine temp is 250F which I think is a bit high.

Second question is rough start, however no error messages.
With previous oil change(7K ago) I spoiled oil by 4 cans of BG44 over 7Kmiles! I put the coils, plugs, installed 3 new injectors which were misfiring and did walnut shell cleaning (7K ago) but no oil change! Even doing that much but no oil change started to cause rough cold starts. What was it?

Bad oil cause gunk growth?

With new oil cold start is more or less OK. The car has 105Kmiles.

It will come out of the engine until it gets to the proper level, which is around 7L. Possibly forcibly from any crack or gasketed area. I'd drain it out and refill properly before you damage your seals, if you haven't already.

Good chance of blowing out many seals (like the rear main seal) and damaging the cats. Get it to the proper oil level ASAP!

+1. I've seen vehicles damaged by as much as half a Litre over the recommended full mark. When I do my oil changes, it usually only takes about 6.25 Litres to get to full, because there is still some oil in the sump, and other parts of the engine that won't drain without flushing it.

By putting in 10.5L of oil you are at roughly 140% of the oil capacity. This is about as big a red flag as you can get when it comes to oil changes, the only thing worse would be not re-installing the drain plug and driving with no oil.

Engines are pressurized systems, having even a little bit too much oil will cause damage over time. 140% of what you need will probably cause catastrophic damage to multiple seals. Drain out your oil immediately, drive the absolute minimum you need to in order to pop the drain plug and remove the excess oil.

When doing an oil change, check if the bottle is in quarts, or litres. The two are not quite the same, and the number of bottles you add will vary. Remember, it's extremely easy to add a little oil, it's not as easy to remove it. It takes about 1L from MIN to MAX on a dipstick, so if your engine takes 6.5L, add 6, then check the fluid level. This gives you a nice 0.5L buffer if all the oil didn't drain. Also remember that you need to take the car out and drive it until it's warm enough to get an accurate reading -OR- be on a level surface with the engine off.

Remember, always check your owners manual for the fluid capacities BEFORE beginning your work

Part 2: This sounds like your HPFP. If you haven't had the recall done already, then this is likely the problem. It could also be an install problem with the injectors, if the issue happened immediately after you finished installing them.

OMG, thank you all!

I was wondering if I can suck oil from the top with a small tube and not from the drain.

Just drain it. The oil will be sitting in the sump at the bottom of the engine, you would need a really long tube snaked through very small passageways to get to it from the engine oil fill cap.

I've over filled previous vehicles before and used a clear bottle with capacity markings to get a good idea of how much has come out. In your case, you could just get an empty 4L milk jug, fill it, then check the oil level and go from there. What I do if I get an over fill is loosen the drain plug, but hold it in place so only a small, continuous, drain occurs. When I over filled my SUV by ~250ml, it took me 10 minutes to drain it back out with this method. Since you need to remove so much it's probably easier to just do a full oil change. This is also why it's a great idea to make sure you have the right amount of oil in prior to cleaning up. If you need to remove some, just raise the front end again and everything is right there.

If it's been 7000 miles though, just drain, replace the filter, and add new oil.

Nope, you can't. I've tried that before thru the oil filter housing. You can only get a cup or so out thru there. Best thing is to do "another" oil change. Hey you can't have too many oil changes done on a car!

Hey!

I have actually driven 400miles on 10 l oil and finally I drained the engine to 6.7l oil yesterday!

I was wondering if I can use the same oil for next time? I guess it should not decompose or be so dirty, right?

Don't be so stingy. Just ditch the oil and buy new next time

Yes, you can reuse the oil if you really care that much.

How do you get 500+ miles on a tank? lol

well, at the moment the symptom is slightly rough cold start

the same as it was in december last year when I had to change plugs, coils, 3 injectors and do engine cleaning.

Now it is not cold, I guess if it will be cold I would get misfires at some point.

you need to take your car to a mechanic or the deal for any maintenance.
