What warranties are necessary after purchase?

Hi folks,

Which warranties should I get or not get after purchasing an F8x?

I'd like to know which ones are necessary and which ones would be a waste.

I'd greatly appreciate it to hear your experiences.

Thank you so much!

None are truly necessary. Extended warranty can be done at anytime before the end of the original warranty. No point in adding that when new. Tire and wheel only covers functional damage and no worth the hassle most days. Various other warranties usually not worth the money. It's extra dealer profit.

All are a waste of money. If they weren't, they wouldn't sell them, or would charge a higher price.

Why by a warranty before the factory one is done. That's $4k easy. What if someone totals your car?? You loose that immediately. BMWs warranty is a decent one that includes maintenance. I'm not sure I'd buy that for this car period. But there again, I wouldn't buy that upfront. Wait towards the end of the 4/50. So far the F8X seems to be very reliable so far with only a few catastrophic failures reported.

Now maintenance on the other hand is something that you may want to consider towards the end. Brakes Is the highest maintenance expenditure you should expect. Do the math to determine if that's the way you want to go.

Garage List
Statistically speaking all warranties should be skipped, the sole reason that warranties are offered is to make money. They price the warranty so that, playing the odds you'll spend more on the warranty than they will spend fixing the car. Whatever you do, don't do the extended service warranty!!!

Seems like the general consensus so far is to avoid them as much as possible.

Was thinking about just getting the wheel/tire. Will definitely look to skip the extended service warranty.

Thank you for all the responses so far!

Wheel/Tire warranty is not a terrible investment on cars with RunFlats but since these cars don't have RFs then I would say no to that as well.

If you have an Americas tire store nearby , they'll sell you the wheel/tire warranty for much less than stealership prices FYI.
Your welcome

If you intend to keep the car for a long time: extended warranty + extended maintenance package.

If you love your wheels too much: plus the wheel/tire protection package.

If you have a pet and you plan to put it in your car: the interior package. The nails might damage the seats. I THINK that should cover it (might be wrong).

The rest aren't important.
