F15 Rear Hatch

when you grab the handle on your F15 to open the rear hatch...does it make a clunk sound before opening?

Just wondering if mine is out of alignment or if its normal. My E70 didn't make this noise.

Not sure I would call it a clunk, but yes mine does make a sound. I thought it was normal

Garage List
I have a X6, but the "thunk" noise it makes is the tailgate lock releasing before the motors open the hatch.

The thunk and clunk sound is normal. My E70 was also quiet but the F15 is noisy. Alan, made a post a few days ago complaining about this noise as well.

The E70 also has to unlock first, yet it doesn't make the noise.
Using this logic, why are the doors silent?

well since we're using logic, the doors unlock/open by human pulling the handle. for the rear hatch, i assume there is an electrical solenoid that releases and opens the lock. therefore the solenoid makes noise??
seriously though, i havent paid much attention to it.
