Decisions Decisions

I've come across a difficult situation and wanted to get some opinions. I got a pretty generous offer of 80k to buy my M recently. I had no plans to sell it but an offer like that is definitely making me think twice. I love my car, along with its sentimental value its something I know I'll never be able to have again considering the color and the fact that its the last generation with the s65 platform. Having an M3 was always a dream of mine not to mention having had it built to my exact specifications from BMW and all the work I've put into it there after. The only thing I can think of that could maybe fill its shoes would be a 997 turbo. Do I make the switch????

80k - is this a real question? Take the $$ and don't look back...

I know man, its a great offer. Guess the sentimental side of things is just getting me. Dilemma is, ok so I take the money. Then what??? what can fill its shoe's?

$80k?!
Are you f'n with me Ted?
you must have a newer car heavily modified.

$80k would be a good down payment for a Porsche

Yea 80k....that's quite an investment after all these years. I say take because even if the e9x m3 becomes a classic due to the high revving V8, paying 80k now is a hit. Maybe later on things change but quite a gamble. Hard to find a replacement for something unique for that price so best of luck. It all depends on what your priority is.

I'm also in a similar situation, but at a smaller scale. I recently purchased my M3 a few months ago and got offered a few thousand more than I paid. I'm considering taking him up on the offer and trying something else.

I have a 2013 Laguna Seca Blue 20k miles with basically every mod you can do shy of going into the motor and upgrading internals. It would cost me more than 80k to buy an M again and do that same upgrades if I ever wanted to go back....

Since its modified the way you like, I'd keep it. Unless you really want to go into the 911.

Most people get nothing, or at the most pennies on the dollar, for modifications. Take the money and run!
