SERVICE

When is your first or next service due? How many miles do you have right now?

I'm at 4500 miles and next/first service is due in 3400 miles but will probably be less than that

Mine is Xdrive35i btw

I'm at 5500 and it says 3900.

Hopefully it's on point and knows my motor needs it and not waste my time at BMW service as the good lord knows I've spent too much time in that waiting room on many many BMWs

It is interesting how the oil change interval went from 15K to 12K to 8-9K.

I am thankful for that - I like to change at 5K

Doesn't bmw have a fairly sophisticated algorithm for determining when an oil change is needed? I assume it's based on starts, stops, RPMs, etc...
Therefore, my mom might need an oil change at 12k while my hard driving style dictates that I need one at 8k.

on my last E70, they refused to change the oil until exactly 15k miles regardless. One the previous E70 they were very flexible with all service and would make judgement calls if I came in early.

My new F15 shows due in 9000 miles with only 900 miles on the X5...i was wondering why it was showing service at 10k miles...so this is new?

BMW changed their OCI from 15k to 10k. There was an article about that here.
