Tire Pressure

I just took delivery of my M3 a week ago and finally got around to checking the tire pressure. The cold PSI should be 32 all around according to the door sticker, however most of mine were in the 40s with the right rear at 50! Did anyone else notice if they were all uneven and over-inflated on delivery?

I posted this in the tire/wheels section as well, but there are more folks visiting this area.

Your dealer forgot to adjust the psi before you took delivery. Take it back and have them change it for you....

Or just let it out yourself and save yourself 30-60 minutes of life?

If he can check the tire pressure himself, he can adjust it in 30 seconds... better than a hour trip to the dealer.

I already adjusted it and reset the TPM. I was just curious if anyone else saw this as well.

On delivery, I had 3 tires in the mid 40's and 1 tire in the high 30's.

I hope you are kidding - it will be infinitely quicker to adjust your tire pressures in your garage. This is something you should be comfortable doing as ambient temperatures change.

BMW usually over-inflates tires for shipping. I had cars delivered to me with tires in high 40s mid-50s psi range. First thing you do is adjust them to your liking.

I agree it is an easy fix, but a dealer should still be adjusting pressures as part of PDI.

Most M3/4 buyers are car buffs and know the importance of proper pressures. It is not the case for everyone buying a BMW (or any other car). I find it pretty negligent from the dealer not to have adjusted the pressures according to the manufacturer recommendations prior to vehicle delivery.

Yep, my M3's rears were in the high 40s, and fronts in the high 30s.

These Accutire MS-4021B guages are pretty handy and nice:

and inexpensive when shipped & sold by Amazon.

I was in a hurry to get mine away from the dealer so they had to rush a bit, but they did have time to glue the dealer sticker on the back.
