I haven't driven my car in 3 weeks....

....b/c it's been raining here like no one's business. On Saturday some friends of mine and I were on our way to a venue to catch a band play. I was in my truck, which I feel is very capable in the rain (4WD FTW), and it started raining so hard, I had to pull over to the side of the road with about 10 other people b/c you literally couldn't see 3 feet in front of you. I've been through rain and snow before, but in my lifetime, this was easily the most dangerous rainfall I've *ever* seen.

When it rains, or even if there's a chance for rain, I don't like to drive the car. It isn't because it's a garage queen and shouldn't get wet, it's because when it rains, everyone seems to forget how to drive, and the last thing I want to deal with is an accident in the E90. In the truck, I feel safe in that it has a push bar and a trailer hitch so if I do get involved in a collision, as long as it isn't a t-bone, the other party will be the worse for wear.

We've been in a drought for the past few years so I thank God for the rain and I realize that this is truly a first world problem. Well, not really a problem, b/c I could easily get in the car and be on my way. But this is a car forum, so I think there are quite a few people here that understand what I'm trying to saying.

I really, really like driving my truck, but I miss the visceral experience of driving the car.

I hear you. The weather guy said we've had TWO days without rain this month - and more to come in June. We don't have nearly the quantity you've had in TX, but everyone in CO is complaining "we didn't sign up for Seattle". I finally got sick of waiting and have been out in the M3 all week. If you get a break, drop everything and go!!

I love the rain, I really do. And we need it so I'm extremely pleased we're getting it. In the grand scheme of things, my car situation is rather trivial.

This rain sure is crazy, but I also enjoy it except when a lightning bolt hits your front yard tree and fries your garage door units. I've been working from home to avoid driving in the rain.

Word. "Back to normal" means a decent amount of rainfall. We've been in a serious drought for the past few years, and that isn't normal. Prior to the rain, it's been so dry, I was reading an article the other day that said experts anticipated Lake Travis, our primary source of drinking water, would run out of water in 2017. Seems kinda ludicrous now *lol*.

Haha same here actually, but mine is more of a garage queen than I'd like to admit (that's why I bought an E36). But like you though, people forget to drive when it's wet. They are either careless or doing 80 mph down the highway.

If they are going to take one of my cars out, I'd rather be in the 4Runner.
