BMW Remote
Have you guys all connected to the BMW Remote via Connected Drive? I tried using it last summer and it was glitchy and did not respond. I guess it has been updated since then, and now it works like a champ. Here are my favorite functions:
- Cooling the car prior to arrival (very useful in TX) - Fully integrated Google maps (with sending the address to the car) Does anyone/everyone else use this app?

Yes, I do use the map function, but I have yet to figure out how to send a route, not just an address to the car...
Anyone? |

I sometimes you use it to send addresses to the car. I think it's a bit clunky, it could integrate with google maps better. It always does a new lookup if you use the share function and sometimes gets the address wrong.

does it connect wirelessly or only via usb cable? i have enhanced bluetooth option

Place a marker on the map then click the little icon on the bottom right of the scree, next to the address.
The one that looks like a arrow pointing to the car. |

I was wondering if this works for everybody.
I could not connect via BMW remote for 3 days now. It will me "unable to connect to the BMW server. The same with sending a location to the car. I get; "We couldn’t communicate with your automaker. Please contact them for assistance". Is this just my account os an issue for everybody?

I've had no luck so far; dealer is looking into it for me, and as of yesterday said "it's something on BMW side with BMW Assist in Canada". Not sure if he really knows what he's talking about, but I do know that the 'send to car' from google maps within a browser (not from the BMW Remote App) used to work for me, but hasn't for a little over a month now.
I called BMW via SOS, they reset my password, but hasn't resolved the problem. They told me the dealer would have to provide any further assistance. Waiting patiently.... |

follow up from the SA yesterday: "I checked again on our side and it shows BMW Assist not functioning. Will have to check further and follow up for you. I'm sure it was working before, not sure why it has become inactive."

Mine is working!!
I guess my SA didnt submit the papers to BMW NA, or something. So my account was not active. Anyway, long story short, it does work in Canada and mine works fine! |
