Out with old and in with the new - MUSCLE

Going to hand my 2012 135i DCT back into BMW and get a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT 392.

Feels like an upgrade, ventilated seats, NA motor, adjustable dampers, Radar cruise... much more like a GT and comfy on demand. Only weighs a 1,000lbs more

Anyone feel there would be major areas lacking between the two?

I dunno... sounds like an upgrade to me. Different, that's for sure... but still an upgrade.

Two different driving characteristics to be honest. The 1 is meant for curvy backroads and the challenger is a highway cruiser. Depends on how you like to drive.

Comfortable power is what I'm looking for. Soak up those bumps and enjoy the road. Its nice being connected to the road, which the 1 series does great. But most of the time the roads i'm on I'd rather not be connected to, pot hole ridden highways and construction that seems to never end.

different for sure....i really like muscle cars, but don't think i could enjoy them for more than a week or two at most as i prefer the enthusiasm of a tightly engineered 'smaller' car. either way, have fun!!

If it were more the size of, per say, a 1967 mustang, I would probably be all over one just for some variety from the 1er. I get it, the original was huge too, but damn, the new one is even bigger. That's saying something.

That said, congrats. Enjoy the new car! Be sure to post pics once you get it.

Huge quality difference between Chrysler products and BMW...but enjoy the ride. A bit too big, heavy, and thirsty for my tastes.

Good stuff. I would love to DD a Scat Pack and occasionally take it to the drag strip.

There are differences and probably more so in the entire product range from Chrysler, however the Challenger specifically the 2015 and up are rated to be of high quality especially the interior.

Unless you do not believe the BMW 1 series is considered the budget level quality of the BMW lineup when it comes to interior parts and quality vs 3, 5 and 7 series. Which is pretty easy to believe after owning one.

Obviously there will be differences that can't be equated to one another due to the production years being so different now.

In the end quality differences wouldn't be an issue I'd use to avoid the Challenger vs the 135. And that's without going into what SRT means when buying a Challenger.

I haven't driven a Challenger but I had a Cherokee as a rental a few months ago and I was impressed. It has a 3.2 liter V6 with a 8 or 9 speed automatic and had good power (for a SUV) but still gets about 30 mpg on the highway. I will have to replace my old Suzuki Grand Vitara at some point and it is a candidate. I worry about reliability but BMW's aren't great either.

Sounds right for you. Good comfy power is what you have in the challenger. It's big and feels like it is.

I notice the difference in my progression going from 135 coupe to 135 convertible to now 335 convertible. Bigger heavier and it feels it.

I haven't driven challenger srt (did rt) but did drI've a charger srt and I would say the 15 is a nice car. Nice interior and great ride. Rough on gas but that's the hemi. Power was good but not mind blowing especially due to the weight. The 8 speed however is way better than the 5 speed my parents have in their 300.

It's more of a 5 series or in this case cheaper 6 series in my mind. Big tourer with capabilities that extend beyond what feels right in the car.
