Austin Yellow with Individual Golden Brown Interior?

Any thoughts on AY M4 with Golden Brown interior?

It's tough to get a good picture of Gold Brown since it's so rare. In dim lighting it looks like a slightly more orange version of Amaro Brown. In brighter light, though, it's almost like a basketball:

A lot of people will tell you you're crazy for pairing that up with AY, but screw the haters. If you like it, be different. Not every car needs to be black, white, silver, or gray.

If you're considering it go for it. Don't let other members decide what would look right or wrong. End of the day it's your car

My personal opinion....it looks Heinous. That interior looks like it belongs in Maybach vice a ///M but to each his own.

But just like YOLO89 said, if you like it, go for it, but get it for that reason alone.

Sans the tan, that brown isn't that bad.

I think I'd choose Amaro over it, though.

Anything brown with Austin yellow I couldn't imagine looking good.

There's a reason everyone gets black or silver interior.

It'll work, but you better be sure. It's an unusual combination and if you don't like it, it will be tough to live with.

Sorry man, in my useless opinion AY + brown =

Whats wrong with black? Get it with AY stitching or something. Or get cloth.

Ay is such a bitchy color, if you're set on the brown get anything else.

The two tone pics above are clouding the issue a bit in that two tone interiors in general will often look gaudy to more people than they will look pleasing to.

This Glacier Silver 428i with Golden Brown interior looks pretty good to me (though I'd leave off the contrasting piping):

Now, would I pair it with AY? Maybe not so much, though I think you could do worse; I'd prefer this to the available Sonoma Beige interior with AY for example.

What, they're lemmings?

I'm my experience, it is very easy to resell an unusual or rare or limited color combo, or a spec that not many people order. The only advantage to getting a car loaded with options and with a conservative color scheme is that it's easy to trade in at any dealer when you are ready for a change.

But the rare and unusual cater to their own markets, and can actually fetch more if you're patient. My CA (very amiable, track enthusiast and all, one of us) flat out told me he cannot shift my "stripper" spec E90, but I was able to sell it within a day on the forum. I've had 3 people lined up ready to take it off my hands, just because it was Interlagos, cloth, 18" rims, no I drive and no sunroof.

So OP, go with it man if the combo is appealing to you. You should buy it for yourself not for the next guy, and IMO an M car needs a little bit of flash to distinguish it from all the other boring bimmers out there.

Thanks! Saw Amaro in an M6- it was ok but "unsaturated" to my eye, like it wanted more shading of some sort to be complete. Guess my favorites don't go together naturally. Wish you could get full leather but with ALL the extra leather black and GB just on the seats and doors- that might tame it enough for AY to work. Just feel I need the leather dash though. Was not expecting to like AY but saw one at Auto Coutre and even indoors it just GLOWED!

AY is indeed incredible, the flakes in the paint just make it glow like you said. I wish I could have 2 cars, one AY and another YMB, but since I could only pick one I went with Yas.

Of course rare can sell well.

However, just because it's a rare combo doesn't mean it will sell well. It has to be a sought after uniqueness. AY with brown to me would not be such a sought after combo. Your previous rare combo sounded very tasteful.

OP asked for thoughts and these are mine. In the end if he can be happy with it that's all that matters. I just don't see it working.

IMO, that looks hideous! I think that would be an impossible sell if you decided to get rid of it.

OP.... again you do what you wish with your vision and although I applaud you for thinking outside the box.........

I fear that the combo of AY and brown will end up looking like something my baby left in his diaper last week.

Good luck
