Package option and space question

Hi, new to the forum. Recently looking to get a E82 but after searching on the internet, some questions come to my mind:

1. Want to have sport seat, is it included in "sport package" or "m-sport package"?

2. Saw some manual sport seats, if I want to get an auto sports seat, then the car should have "premium package" as well?

3. Does the car feel cramped inside? I am driving GTI now though.

Sport seats come with the sport package (2008 and early 2009) and the M-sport package (2009+)

Unsure. Think manual seats were an option aside from premium. Im sure someone knows the answer to this one.

No, car feels pretty big inside. Layout is very nice. Definitely not claustrophobic.

When I bought my 2013 128i, you could have gotten power seats as a $995 stand alone option, so it is possible to have power seats without the premium package. They were standard on the 135i.

The car does not feel cramped to me, but then again I never ride in the back. I imagine the backseat would feel cramped to any adult. I think there is plenty of room in the front seats.

My sport seats came with the M sport pkg. Sport seats as well as the ///M steering wheel, also part of the sport/M sport pkg, are must haves, imo.

My car did not come with the premium pkg, but did come with power front seats as a $995 stand alone option.

The front area is plenty big, back seat is good for medium to small occupants, but difficult to get in and out of. I once tore calf muscles getting out of the back seat area after cleaning/dressing the leather seats.

So dumb question: what exactly includes in M sport pkg?

261 style wheels, sport seats, ///M steering wheel, anthracite headliner, ///Ms on the door sills, glacier silver aluminum interior trim, shadowline exterior trim, increased top speed limiter, and that's it, I think.

Sport seats, ///M steering wheel, shadowline exterior trim, and increased top speed limiter make up the sport pkg, IIRC. Somebody chime in if I'm wrong. The non M sport cars came with 264 style wheels.

Sport seat is much better IMHO. great bolstering which is nice in corners and even for cruising.

From my perspective driving, the cabin feels spacious. Great visibility. The windows between the b and c pillow are nice and large. Gives great confidence for changing lanes.

I suppose if you are tall you might not have a lot of leg room from side to side. I'm 5' 9" and it feels perfect.

Here's the package and options list by year with descriptions. Change the URL year for what you're looking at.

Sounds like the OP really needs to start doing research in the Ordering, Pricing, Options, Tracking Discussions section of this site.

Don't let the package and options list above confuse you regarding the suspension. All 135s came from the factory with the same suspension. The only difference was in 2011 when the springs were supposedly changed from progressive to linear.

Nothing assumed about it. 2011+ rear springs are linear.

This is why I said "supposedly."

Just wanted to comment on #3. I came from a MKV GTI. The inside is smaller than the GTI. You get used to it pretty quickly. The only thing is the storage space is significantly larger on the GTI which is obvious since its a hatchback. If you dont carry stuff often you will be fine.

Kinda... But yeah, sport pkg is a must after some search (and it looks better). Others are not that important to me now.
