educated guesses as to 2016 price increase?
So im pretty much resigned to the fact that I put my order in too late and my dealer couldn't trade any other dealer in the US for an allocation spot for this "limited edition" (it seems) car. So im out of a 2015 and im supposedly in the front of the line for a 2016... any guesses as to what the price increase will be?

If it's $1500 I'd hope they'd add some stuff standard like CA and heated steering wheel. Back-up camera will probably be standard but that's going to be for all cars going forward so it's not really as exciting lol

my thinking is the m2 is coming out and they want to keep a 10k difference... so no way m2 will be 52,500... more like 54,000, hence 1500-2000 increase... but wtf do i know lol

If LED headlights become standard, i'd expect the bump to be pretty significant.
They get a pretty penny for the lighting package now, as it is.

Despite backup cameras being standard they could still raise the price of the car more becuase of it! Not trying to judge this one way or another but government regulation on consumer products and goods = higher prices. Look at the price of eggs in California.

I'm expecting a 2% to 3% increase and drop in residuals (or balance thereof).
Cars have gotten so expensive since 2008, it's just insane to me. Even with a $1500 to $2500 price increase, BMW is still massively punching above their weight. With that said, I think if they chose to go the 2 to 3% route, there wouldn't be much of a drop in residuals. Re: backup cameras, BMW will milk that until May 2018.

Yea you are probably right. If I was running the business, that's what I'd do.
Regardless for $600 you can buy your own camera and connect it to the nav screen. So, if you find yourself backing into things, you have that as an option. |

The only thing I've ever backed into before was a living thing. It wasn't fun. I have much better luck if what I'm trying to avoid isn't moving.

I think price should stay the same or go up by a very small number, like $300
At this point M3 price is high in US when compared to C63, A5, ATS-V, Lexus. About dealer allocations, a few dealers I visited in the area either had allocation slots available or were ready to switch cars with another dealer. So I think there are cars for sale on dealer lots despite being limited production car. I am waiting for 2016 and don't mind driving my 325 this summer while waiting. |

I ordered mine April 1st. They said I could wait for a 2016 but it would be 1600 more. Since its a M4 and not getting the LCI this year I passed.
