My iPhone 6+ fits flat over the cup holders - not in them. Covers both cup holders at once. Almost perfect fit.

Hah I almost asked this exact same question here a few months ago.

I can second dngo, my 6+ fits right over the two cup holders and its pretty secure. Maybe not optimal viewing angle, and does hog both cup holders, but thats the best spot really.

You can kinda get it to fit partially vertically due to the the small channel between the two cup holders, but it will eventually flop over and fly to the back of the car under spirited driving.

Many people will suggest various suction cup mounts, cupholder mounts, air vent mounts, or even CD slot mounts, but IMHO it doesnt have the same "toss it somewhere and go" convenience. Especially with the larger phones, they fit a bit tight in many of the more compact universal mounts.

I use the Belkin cupholder mount with my iPhone 6. It fits the 6+ too.

Do you happen to have a pic of it in the car? I'm wondering if it interferes with shifting into R, 1st, 3rd, or 5th.

Also, is it too tall, with it plugged in?

Thanks!

Here is a pic: it is a bit blurry due to the poor lighting, but it should give you the idea.

No interference whatsoever with shifting. I normally keep the iPhone horizontal, but there should be enough room to have it vertical.

I've been eye'ing this mount...it doesn't screw to the car, and you can screw or glue any mount to it - I have been using an iMagnet mount that is really convienent so am going to put one of those on one of these:

http://www.kudausa.com/bmw-4-+-m4-f3...ack-a1880.html

a bit pricey but I like the location and doesn't seem will interfere with front passenger legroom.
