Adding HUD

My M4 didn't come with HUD. It was the only one with everything I wanted that I could find at the time without ordering, last summer. Since I plan on keeping this car long term I was wondering can HUD be added? I know HUD isn't a big deal but being a pilot I would like to add it. HAHA.

It is not the same as the HUD that comes with F8x executive package, but check out this post:

I don't know if anyone has installed it on F8x yet.

HUD is the single most valuable item in my interior. If you use nav a lot it's hard to go without it if you had it in the past.

My understanding is you can't get that in the states yet.

Contact forum vendor BimmerTech with enough money to burn. You will need a new dash, wiring, coding and HUD module. They will make it happen like OEM.

Does HUD require an HUD specific windshield? Or is it able to reflect against any windshield?

Completely agree. Just drove through 6 countries (Euro Delivery) and it was EXTREMELY valuable. Sorry the OP didn't get it but if anyone else is on the fence about it, I would strongly suggest getting it.

Yes, cars with HUDs also have a different windshield. The area in which the display appears is highly polished and somewhat thicker when compared to normal glass.

Using a non-HUD windshield in a car that has a HUD will cause the display on the windshield to become fuzzy/blurry.

That is ugly as fuck on your dash. But it looks like it does give more info than the standard HUD.

Me, I'm just happy that I have HUD on my M4.
