Build Production Timeframe

Just found out my individual m3 order is scheduled for production week 17. Was wondering how long production usually takes.

Actually I'm super happy. I thought I wasn't getting it until July and unless I'm missing something it might come sooner.

I was also scheduled for a week 17 production. It went into production on 4/10 and ended production today. I'm hoping to have it by the end of next month.

Yours must have entered early since i think next week is 17

I wish mine was scheduled. Still waiting for my M3 to be scheduled for a build week Of course, the dealer I'm working with just got allocation and submitted the order on 4/6.

This week is week 17. Timeframes I have seen for F8x production run from 9 - 15 days it seems. Your car should begin production by this Friday and be completed by 5/11 at the latest. That is if it does start during Week 17 - many members have seen cars start well before their build week estimates, yet others have seen their cars delayed, right Bonzer103?

Weird how this all works. My order was also placed on 4/6, but like dtronics, mine is finished as of yesterday and now awaiting transport to port. Do you have a production # and tried calling the 1800 number for status?

Mine is scheduled to finish production on thursday and is currently in the body shop

Or even more, simply get your CA to give you a screen shot of the Vehicle Inquiry Status that he can do right from his desk.

The whole process isn't a mystery unless the dealership makes it one.

Your CA, in a matter of 30 seconds, can find out exactly what status you are in. Not what the website or 800 number tells you, but exactly where you are.

Remember, it doesn't matter when your dealer put in the order, but when the allocation build week is for....again, your CA knows all of this stuff. You shouldn't be in the dark on this.

I just spoke to someone from the BMW 800 number. Week 17 starts next week she said.

Hmm, that's odd as when I was scheduled for week 18 the 1-800 told me that was 4/27 - 5/1. I hope the shipping out from Bremerhaven problems are firmly in the rearview at this point.

What's your individual spec, Jc? Did you go with the SMB?

She is mistaken....this week is week 17...I was originally scheduled for week 17, but got bumped to week 21

That's a bummer. Hopefully this means my car will enter production sometime this week
