Seems like the plants in welt is closed for the 1st week of june and then welt is closed the 2nd week.
The wait is killing me!!!

Where did you see it was closed? I was about to email them to get my tickets for my June 2nd delivery.

Thanks for the info! I guess that means I can just ask to move up my pickup time to the morning instead of afternoon.

Museum may be worth a look though.

Oh awesome! Did they give you a time yet? My appointment was scheduled for 3:10p but since the factory tours are unavailable I might try for an earlier time.

I haven't quite finished my routes. I really want to do a pass through the Alps but the first two destinations are Leipzig and Prague. My brother is meeting me in Munich so I have to drop him off at home in Leipzig.

Have you planned out your route yet?

Tour was fascinating to see at least once. After that you can skip it for future ED's.

The factory tour is the coolest part of all activities.
I would rate it way above BMW museum or Welt experience.

If you can adjust your schedule to do the tour (make sure you have booked English tour group, as most are in German), I would consider doing that.
On the other hand, if you plan future ED purchases, you could wait until the next time.

I did the Munich factory tour, not as part of ED but while in Germany on a business trip. It was amazing - it took almost three hours and went through the entire factory. Started with stamping body panels and went all the way through to dyno testing the completed cars.

the three hour factory tour is impressive but I don't know if I'd reschedule two weeks just for it. maybe you have to be more brand-centric than I am.

I will also say don't try to replace the Munich factory tour with the PCD factory tour. the Munich tour kicks the PCD tour's ass.

At least experience the Munich factory tour in whatever way you can to accommodate it. It's an engineering marvel, and be prepared to be on your feet for the full 3 hours.

Ugh, was just wrestling with this question but my delivery is on June 1 so I guess it's a moot point.
