BMW Performance Short Shifter

I've been thinking about getting this short shifter for my 135i, until yesterday when I drove my friends' 335i. The throw distance on his shifter is significantly longer than mine. The throw distance on mine is pretty short and precise, but does it already have this BMW performance shifter, or will this shifter make my throw even shorter?

Basically I'm wondering if this would make a difference/would be worth it or if I should just buy the knob and boot and leave my shifter alone.

I ordered the ssk when I ordered my car. It was on backorder so I received my car and had to wait 3 weeks until the ssk came in. When they installed it I could definitely feel a difference. Not sure how much was placebo but I like it more and it feels like a shorter throw. If you were local id let you try it out. See if you can find someone local to you with one and see how it feels.

The throw length on the n55 trans
And n54 trans are different too. Not sure if that is the difference also.

The shifter in my car feels very similar to my friend's new Miata, very short and notchy. I like the way it is now I just didn't know if the BMWP one would make a noticeable difference. I'm thinking about just getting the knob and boot for now since just the shifter mechanism is $200+ more.

When I had my SSK installed I noticed a difference. It wasn't as short as I thought it would be but I love it. It's got a good feel to it.
