sorry to hear what happened. i hate how people have no respect for other peoples property. atleast leave a note or something. i know there are some good people out there that do.
looks like those are just scratches, i cant tell if there are dents on it? hopefully you dont need to get a new bumper, id say take it to a repair shop to see if there are any frame damage. |

Are there cameras in the parking lot/deck?
If its another daily parker, keep an eye out for another car with new damage or white paint residue |

That sucks, sorry to hear. It's hard to tell from your pic, but I had someone hit my rear bumper in the same spot last month on the highway. It was mostly in the paint and didn't crumple the bumper. I took it to my dealership and they were able to repaint it in one day and it looks like new. The total cost was $250.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but it looks like the bumper is in fact dented. It is hard to see with that picture. If it is dented then you need a new bumper, if not then probably not. Just repaint. Either way it sucks.

Sorry to see that. Is it public parking or reserved for employees of your company? One of the worries I don't have, working from a home office.

Its far too easy to get a driver's license in the States. I would be mad as hell if that was me so sorry for that OP. Even if I had the funds, I wouldn't bring myself to buy the car in NYC if I don't have a means to protect it.
From the pic it doesn't like physical damage so repaint could be way to go.

This is why "I" park like it's Christmas season every day. But this is why I got made fun of b/c "it's just a car" and "why do you have to park like a douche. Mind you I never took up two spaces or any of that bullshit.
People just don't care. I got a huge door ding in my corolla because of some soccer mom and her human larvae getting out of her SUV she can't park. (Im speculating of course) I feel your pain

Tell me about it, was getting my hair cut the other day and saw a 1980s Cadillac pull into a handicap spot, took them 5 minutes to park the car, then the door just flies open (full extension, luckily handicap spots are big, missed next car by a few inches), then I see a big ass cane hit the ground and a 4'10" hunched over 85 year old woman get out (took another 5 minutes) and drag herself across the street.
Now I am not making fun of the old person because we can't help getting old, BUT that person should NOT have a drivers license, I wonder what her reaction time is? Drivers like her are the reason Walgreens and other drug stores have to put barricades in front of their handicap spots and front doors, they drive right into the buildings! I am lucky I work for a small company where everyone knows each others cars and are very careful not to hit each other, my wife on the other hand works for a large company and has an insane amount of scratches and dings from co-workers, even a hit and run like the OP's, luckily its not cracked so its just a repaint needed, but those still aren't free! My wife hit someone last year, she has Vertigo and got a little dizzy while parking that morning, scrapped the back corner of his car pulling in. Went out of her way to find who it was and admitted fault! No reason to ruin someone else's day as well (he actually just took the insurance check and never fixed it, LOL) Also in my experience even dents can be fixed, its the cracks that screw you. |

Seemed pretty accurate to me.
You may have forgot terms such as, fat, mouth breathing, etc.

What's the estimate? If it's not too bad, you may want to consider just paying out of pocket, considering: 1. your deductible, 2. making a claim and the corresponding rate increase, and also 3. resale value if it hits Carfax.

Was it hit at home? Work? Whatever the case, you have insurance so don't mess with it and take it to the factory for a full repair. The insurance company collects a premium so its you're right to get it fixed anywhere you want to go. BMW dealers back their work 100%. |
