Why I hate winter

Glad I didn't take the winter tires off a week earlier. Replace the rim from Tire Rack for $99 since the ones I bought a year ago were being discontinued. Got one of only three left in stock.

Shit, that sucks.

Honestly though, this is one reason why I run OE rims in the winter. Will be a long time before they get discontinued.

At least it looks repairable. Weather is finally warming up but the roads are still covered in potholes so I'm sticking to my winter 17's for now.

I did something similar many, many years ago in the middle of summer (slid off a soft shoulder and totally destroyed a wheel).

Sorry for your troubles, brother...

I was getting a lot of vibration after I put my winter wheels on, and I couldn't figure out what it was. I brought it in the shop and they're like "Yea, all 4 wheels were bent", well, that explains it . . . I feel the pain OP

Yeah, I don't really care for the look of my BMW 141 winter wheels, but they have held up with ZERO bends for three brutal Boston-area winters (and the associated craters in the roads). That's one thing that makes me leery of aftermarket, especially lightweight and cast, wheels. These OEM buggers are built like a tank.

The tire held air so it's not a bad bend but fixing it was $99 minimum. So Tire rack had delivered one to me in 2 days.

I might get reimbursed by Ohio Dept of Highways if I submit the correct form. What it might boil down is a nightmare of crap if the city of Cincy is supposed to maintain the road and it'll turn into a pissing contest who pays. It's always a bad section of I-71 after the winter freeze/thall cycle and one of the last areas to have potholes filled.

I'm going to get the car aligned and checked to see if anything might be bent. It feels OK with the summers on, but it's worth trying to preserve the Michelins.

I just replaced my front right OEM style 141 wheel that got bent from a bloody freakin pothole.
Also, just found out that my underbelly skid plate is broken from hitting a chunk of frozen slush on the highway (the brown frozen shit that accumulate in your fenders and falls off at times).
Also had to repair my windshield due to a nick from a stone.

Loving Quebec roads and the stone dust they spray on Highways, as if this is melting anything

Got the acknowledgement from Ohio DOT. I have to submit a claim aand a $25 filing fee along with receipts and then they'll determine if I get full or partial reimbursement. So I'm taking the car in for inspection and alignment and submit all of it at once.

Worth a shot since I'm in for $117 so far and whatever alignment/bent parts that might turn up.

Ha ^^ Funny you mention because the tire shop said the same thing to me last winter. I asked if there were any leaks and they said no. Well I drove all winter this year on bent wheels and they were great except for random vibrations at different speeds.

I guess I'm in for new wheels and tires for next season.

Ouch!

Been playing the dodge potholes game lately too. We have some pretty terrible roads here in the spring. Our spring has a pretty long period of freeze/thaw cycles so potholes is an unavoidable reality here.
