Fixing Headlight...

I have a 135i and my drivers side headlight is scuffed really bad. Tried 3m's restoration kit. Tried polishing and buffing. Not sure what else to try. Any ideas, here is a pic.

Wetsand @ 1000G and then maybe 1500/2000 Grit until a real even cloud appears. Then, have it clear coated. Either have a shop do it or just get some good quality aerosol. Do multiple, light coats. You should be good and the fix is pretty much permanent. If the clear coat is a little wavy and bumpy, you can then wetsand that w/ 2000 grit and polish after.

^^I agree with your post as a last resort. I've actually done this several times with plastic lenses and glass head lights with great results. I really don't think those lenses are beyond polishing. I do know trying to polish a loose lens not attached to the housing is extremely hard to hold onto and properly polish. If I was you I would just stop at a local collision shop and have them polish them really quick. It would probably take them about 15 minutes each. That includes sanding.

Take a look at the link below and check out my instructions as well as the videos.
